He is said to be the Chosen One, the Savior of the world, who would come and show the way for man to reach Heaven, and die on the cross to pay for the sins of man. It was an Immaculate Conception, meaning Mary, Jesus' mother, was a virgin and thus Jesus is the Son of God. Christmas is meant to worship the little baby who would grow up to become a very holy man, the most pure ever to walk the earth. Supposedly, he was said to be a gift from God. Other people can from all over to bring him gifts, so the tradition of gift exchanges is said to reflect the gifts given to him.
