25th Gryffindor Note [Action/Voice]

[ Hermione's been thinking about the DA and what Xion talked to her about a few days ago. As far as she's concerned, it's high time the DA's started to get actively involved in Luceti. It's high time they became protectors and not just a secret society. So, for all you DA members (check the OOC post), she's looking out for you all to talk to you.

[AHH answering-- communication-- polite, polite. Quiet.]

Y-Yes. Iria... Spada... Hermana... I would. [...but um] Why do you ask?

I wondered how many hero-types Luceti has right now.

'Hero-types'? [He doesn't think himself much of a hero-type, but.]

People who would do everything in their power to protect others.

Of course. [ Because he figures it's the least he can do. ] I don't think I could forgive myself if I didn't at least try.

I feel the same way. It's nice to know there are others who feel the same.

Yeah. Luceti's usually a pretty good place about that.

I'm starting to realize that. It's good to know there are others you can count on should something really bad happen.

Is there a good reason not to?

No, not as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I ought to have phrased the question differently.

If you had the chance to protect someone using magic that wasn't your own, would you do it?

*Well, not that she knows that she did this in a different route but...*

It depends on the situation but... yeah, I think I would.

Depends on what situation?

Yes. To both of them.

And you'd agree to help when called on, perhaps to help protect people you didn't even know?

(Of course I would. It's... what SeeDs do, isn't it?)

Yes.

[She's been here long enough to know the big villain names at least... or the ones who were here at one point.]

Have you ever used the Filial magic before?

[pause.]

And I can't remember if we've ever been properly introduced. I'm Hermione Granger.

Yes, absolutely yes to both. Why would you not if it was to protect someone?

Reply

[ Voice ] loyalotter January 11 2011, 18:09:46 UTC
I suppose if it would endanger someone else, but even then, I'd likely try to save both somehow.

[ Voice ] apocalypsefall January 11 2011, 18:12:23 UTC
Do you know the chances of it hurting someone else?

Reply

[ Voice ] loyalotter January 11 2011, 18:23:05 UTC
This is all hypothetical. That's a good question anyway. Suppose you have two scenarios. One, if you try to protect someone who couldn't defend himself as well and was in immediate danger, there's a 95% chance someone else will get hurt from it, but you'd be able to help them out later. Or two, that chance to help the second person later didn't exist.

[Yes, she's aware of how difficult this question is. She's not sure she could make this decision without extenuating circumstances... and she still feels guilty about Tonks' father's death and Dean and Griphook getting caught when they could have done something to help.]
