Food's almost gone, even with trying not to eat much. Crab-things still don't taste too good.

Any chance we can salvage boats and then poison the monster again so we can actually get out of here before there's nobody left strong enough to do the work? Even if it's deserted there's a better chance of surviving on the mainland.

I don't think they are. Usuallly it'd hit within a day if something's poisonous, y'know?
They just taste awful. Not a lot of meat on 'em for all the work you have to put in to getting it, either. I think they're mostly shell.

Lots of shell? I'm no cook, so I wouldn't know how to make the stuff edible, but I've heard that the shells of animals are a good source of protein.
