Seriously. Sage Brocklebank was off the chart, because to begin with, I was "oh, Buzz, no, you can't be the killer!" And then "Oh, Buzz, no, you cannot die!" And then he didn't, and I was pleased.
It's actually the third time they tried to kill Buzz. First, he was almost murderised for calling a stress helpline, second, almost blown to smithereens.
He's like a redshirt, only, without the actual death.
The compromises! This is just another way to show how Shawn has matured.
I have a few! "A Very Juliet Episode" and "Mr Yin Presents" just made it into my top five. "Lights, Camera, Homicidio" has always been a personal favourite, as has "From Earth to Starbucks", "9 Lives", "Gus Walks Into a Bank" oh, and "Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing". There are really only two episodes I don't especially like, and they improve on rewatch.
As you can see, most of my favourite episodes are written by Andy Berman, or a co-write between Roday and Steve Franks. There's one that's by Kell Cahoon. And no Saladin K Patterson, because whilst he often delivers some amazing jokes, Shawn is almost always a huge jerkhead in his episodes. I can only take so much of obnoxious Shawn. I have to want to hug him at the same time as slapping him upside the head.
... it's entirely possible I've thought too much about this.
And Jules/Lassiter, guys. Yay of massive yay. That part KILLED me. Ugh. It's just beautiful to me how far they've come in their partnership and how Lassiter wasn't even going to hear about doing anything BUT going after his partner.
Yes. Yes! I am in love with how much they support one another. And how great is it that a man who three years or so ago would only be trying to get lead and look fabulous, and who would follow the rules to the end was just 'forget protocol, I'm off to take care of my own'? Lassiter's character development is so wonderful.
the entire montagey ending was just GORGEOUS. and yeah, while the Psychout was jarring after it, I was thankful for the laugh. ;P
They so need to stop nearly killing Buzz!!
oh man, when Shawn called Abigail SWEETHEART, I may have nearly died. and then his little "you inspire ME" later! jfldjfkljdfl oh, honey. :( But yeah, I love them SO MUCH for respecting their relationship and ending it in a way that made sense.

I, too, was a fan of 'sweetheart' --- and I am not normally, but it was perfect.
