:) Not twiddle-twaddle!
I kind of agree with you that maybe people have shorter attention spans. On the other hand, I think that if a pairing or atory is really unusual, people might be more likely to comment on it.
Just my two cents :)

It's getting harder and harder for me to think of stuff that is new, or different, or as you say, unusual.

I'm now desperate for the new season to start, to hopefully spark off some new ideas in my tired ol' brain cells.

Maybe you could try different pairings, rather than the traditional Goren/Eames? It's easier, for me, to think of ideas for Barek/Eames fics than it is to think of G/E.

I can't wait for the new season to start - it's going to be awesome! What date does it begin?

USA Network website says the new season will begin on 19th April, but I have become immune to their announcements and will, frankly, believe it when I see it.

I can't write any different characters because I have never watched any of the episodes that feature them. I did a Jimmy Deakins one, once, and I must have a crack at Carver.

My tastes have changed radically, too. So has my writing style.

So it's a combination: Shorter attention spans, more discretion in discerning what we like/don't like, and busier lifestyles.

It seems a bit sad. Oh well.

I have always been a little bit in love with Jack's mum, just from the stories you tell me about her. You can tell her she has a fan over in Blighty ~waves~

There was a discussion on a blog on Multiply just recently about how "long" blogs (what? I've yet to see a truly "long" blog, including my own wafflings!) take too long to read, so the writer doesn't bother reading them. The majority of the respondents agreed!

Eh?? ~looks aghast~

SURELY, it all depends on whether said blog catches your interest or not. Doesn't it? Help me here, people.

Blog entries are a different category, I think, from fic (fan-fiction.) I don't seem to have a problem getting people to read my long blog entries, but my long fics don't attract so much attention.

One writer I know solved this problem by posting an ENORMOUS long fic in little snippets, every few days. I may just do something like that. After all, that was how Charles Dickens got started off, with the serialisation of "The Pickwick Papers"
