After reading so many complaints and comments about how horrible the song The Catalyst is... breaks my heart. Because guess what guys, the song does NOT SUCK. I think that one reason people may not be so thrilled with Linkin Park's newer music is how produced it sounds, or even overproduced depending on your tastes. The synths being a main instrument make for a much different sound than, say, the style of Hybrid Theory. While I'm not crazy about it myself, it certainly makes itself useful in certain songs, but in others it sounds a little bloated. One could argue that the synths don't go with Chester's scratchy timbre, making for an awkward clash of sounds ( ... )

I really like the 'old' Linkin Park, and what you say about it being a seed that grows, it actually makes sense. Those are the songs that I like listening to the most. But, I can also see that they want to change themselves, change their music. It's a quality of them that I totally respect and admire.
It doesn't mean I like every song they make, because I don't, but I at least give them a chance. And this chance gives me the opportunity to discover the greatness that is the 'new' Linkin Park. They're just a very good band. Not only for their music, but also for what they stand for and do for others.
So, I had to respond, because I could relate to what you say about the complaints and comments.
