Ok,

Here's the deal, November is National Novel Writing Month.

I know I don't have time to write one or really having a book waiting inside of me (at least for now).

So.... I'm going to write one short story each week for the full month of Nov.

Cool. Make sure you spread it out over each week, just like with a book. Several small steps are easier than one big one, even if it's in a story.

And remember: NNW is not about getting it right the first time; it's about pushing yourself and putting the words down. You can always go back and fix it after Nov. 30th. So, even if you aren't totally happy with what is ending up on the page, keep moving forward. The goal here is output.

A story a week can be tough, but it's a good goal. Good luck!

If you have four stories in you, surely you have one novel? It's only 50K words. You can do it; I have faith in you.

All you need is a deadline.

Excellent idea! My friend flirty_soprano is doing a collection of what she calls "drabbles," essentially a ton of little vignettes. She hopes to hit 50K doing it that way.
