Sorry. His logic is flawed. He's drawing correlations where there is no serious evidenciary link.

It's tantamount to saying that the rise in sales of baggy pants and the decline in sales of 56k modems are cause/effect.

I'll be the non-believing liberal, I'm afraid.

Not exactly. Those have no relation to each other (baggy pants and 56k modems).

While it is a tenuous argument, all arguments that cite statistics are suspect. Statistics is often little more than lying with numbers. It is no different then the anti-gun advocats that claim so many accidental gun related child deaths a day when railing against guns in the home. However, they include the deaths of the 17 year old gang bangers that get killed in a firefight in that statistic. But, the way it is worded, the common interpretation is that that many kids are accidentally killed by unlocked/loaded guns in the home.

There are arguments both ways.

My opinion is, live your life and let me live mine. As long as what I do doesn't directly affect you, it is none of your business.

O.K. Secondarily. The ease of access to weapons allows a whole big pile of dead 17 year old gang bangers to accumulate. When it's thousands of deaths a year, how come there is such a willingness to accept this from the pro-gun lobby?

Gun bans won't stop this. When assult weapons were baned, it was rediculously easy to get these banned" weapons on the streets. The major flaw with gun control is that it will onlt really take the guns out of the hands of law abiding, and usually responsible, people.

As was pointed out in a recent episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, the criminals disregard the laws about robbery, rape, murder, etc, do you think they'll obey the gun control laws?

Look at drugs, they are "banned", but it is rediculously easy for someone who really wants to go out and buy whatever there heart desires.

The consequences of letting some people live as they would like to live can REALLY hurt others.Yes, that is true. However, it is not the guns that are the problem, it is the people. As the saying goes, "Guns don't ( ... )
