A friendly chat with the Narrator...

"Is The Narrator's position not all it’s cracked up to be?”

Now that you mention it, no, it really isn’t. For a year now I’ve been doing this Narration thing, and I have to tell you, I never imagined how much work it would be! So many stories, so many demands! It would be nice to just settle into an Archetype and relax for a change, you know?

You nod sympathetically.

Honestly, just telling a coherent story is hard enough - making it engaging, too, well, I just don’t know what I was thinking! I know it’s tradition to compete in the games, but … well, you don’t want to hear me complain. You came here to try to win my position. We should get on with it.

You shrug. “If you want to. I mean, we can take it easy, instead. You’ve got all those stories to tell, and with this storm out there I’m probably not going to get any more data entered tonight. It’s bound to just make me upset if we lose power, and I already have something of an anger management problem.”

That’s… very nice of you. Tell you what, let’s make this nice and simple.

Your computer dings. You have email!

[Check the email]
The email is a congratulatory letter from the National Science Foundation. You’re funded for the next ten years! There’s an attachment to the email.

After an appropriate amount of undignified celebratory yelling, you click on the attachment and download the file. You have acquired The_Perspex_Gem!

Congratulations! You win! I quit. Hahahahaha! Suckers!
