Chiitaro-thon 64. 5 times Chinen managed to push Ryutaro up against a wall
Ryutaro learnt a valuable lesson the day he left his laptop in the change rooms. He walked through the nigh deserted halls, cheerfully minding his own business. He came to a stop in front of the sliding doors, his attention diverted to his mp3 player as he fiddled with song selection.
He didn’t hear it coming, never heard the call in warning. He never even stood a chance. One moment he’s standing on his own two feet, his thoughts and song lyrics floating through his head and the next his heart is racing a mile a minute; his head is aching from where it banged painfully against the wall. He had been literally knocked off his feet as Chinen came flying through the now open doorway. He looked down and met equally startled large brown eyes; Chinen’s tiny hands clutching at his lapel.
He would never have thought it possible; to be pinned to the wall by someone like Chinen.
He would never judge a book by its cover again.
He watches sometimes - tries not to make it so obvious, although the smirks he gets from Inoo tell him that he’s being entirely to obvious. He figures it’s okay though since the one he watches is oblivious.
He watches Chinen bounce around the set without seemingly a care in the world. It drives him a little nuts as his own stomach is in knots. He shakes his head and looks away. He has things he should be doing, like homework.
He hears his name shouted as he is on his way to the waiting rooms. Stopping in the doorway proves to be a big mistake as Chinen barrels through with Yamada hot on his tail. Chinen’s shouting an apology over his shoulder as he sprints away. Ryutaro is too shocked to even move from his sprawl against the opposite wall.
How can so much energy and so much strength be hiding in such a tiny body?
Once he realized what was happening Ryutaro found that he was unable to think of anything else. He found it uncomfortable being alone with him, hell, he found his skin prickling and a blush rising on his cheeks just being in the same general vicinity.
The rooming situation for their next hotel was announced and fate threw him a curveball and Ryutaro had no idea how to deal. He was finding it hard to be near him, to sit beside him in meetings and in the van and know he had to sleep in the same room.
Even if Chinen was still oblivious at the moment, Ryutaro knew it wasn’t going to last long.
He stepped through the hotel room threshold, his bag held in front of him like a barrier capable of protecting him from Chinen’s charm. Chinen turned to look at him and Ryutaro’s breath caught in his throat. The other boy smiled and stepped towards him. He found himself instinctively taking a counter step backwards. Chinen didn’t seem to notice and kept walking forward, Ryutaro’s back hit the wall and his breath escaped in a hiss. He clutched at his bag, frozen against the pasty cream wall of their shared hotel room. He watched with nervous apprehensive eyes and Chinen reached out and brushed his fingertips across Ryutaro’s now fiercely red cheek.
“Wh…what are you doing?”
“You had an eyelash.”
Ryutaro kind of wants to die.
“A little birdie told me that someone has a crush.”
Ryutaro fingers fumbled and he dropped his water bottle. His head shot up and he glanced guiltily at Chinen. The older boy smirked and Ryutaro silently berated himself for thinking how sinful that curve of his lips made him appear.
“It’s not what you think,” he started.
“Oh. It’s not?”
Ryutaro had spent what felt like a lifetime agonizing over the other boy. He wasn’t the boy from their debut anymore. He wasn’t as naïve but what he had failed to notice was that while he was watching so intensely Chinen had also grown up.
The youthful appearance was still there, as was the selfishness but some of the obliviousness had dissipated or maybe he had been played and Chinen had always been aware of him watching.
Just like in that hotel room so long ago he was pinned to the wall of the dance studio without Chinen so much as laying a hand on him.
His chest tightened as the older boy smiled and turned away.
Ryutaro cursed under his breath when he realized he had left his laptop at work again. He sighed, turning away from the turnstiles and took off at a run back to the studio. He had an assignment to turn in on Monday and the draft was on the laptop. He cursed his forgetfulness.
He bustled through the locker room doors and made his way to back of the room; thoughts preoccupied with schoolwork. He heard it just has he swung the bag onto his shoulders; the tiny squeak of rubber soles. Whirling around he came face to face with the person whose existence he has been struggling to ignore for months.
Ever since Chinen confronted him the dance studio about his crush and all but shot him down, Ryutaro had been doing his very best to forget it and had endeavoured never to be alone with Chinen. Ever again. He had kind of been succeeding, at least in the never being alone with Chinen part. Until now.
“Hello Ryutaro.”
“Uh,” Ryutaro all but whimpered in return.
Chinen was blocking the only exit; this day was quickly going from bad to worse. He bit his lip so as not to make a sound as Chinen came close enough to touch. Ryutaro watched with apprenhensively cautious eyes as Chinen reached out with one milky white hand. He flinched in spite of himself and before he was even aware that he had moved his back was flush against the lockers and Chinen was still reaching out to him.
He closed his eyes against Chinen’s inquisitive eyes. A gasp escaped him as he felt the whisper of fingertips against his collar.
“Why have you been ignoring me?”
“I. I… I’ve not…”
Ryutaro could feel his gaze, the hand on his shoulder felt as though it weight a tonne. He flinched again as he felt Chinen shift in front of him.
“Don’t turn away from me.”
The demand sounded strange coming from Chinen’s lips. There was a pouty quality to his voice that made it sound different to every other demand Ryutaro had heard Chinen utter. It sounded far too personal. It was unfair of Chinen to demand such a thing.
How else was Ryutaro supposed to protect himself?
His eyes opened and he watched in awe as Chinen stepped closer again, stretching up on tip toes, the hand on his shoulder tightened. Ryutaro could barely breathe. He didn’t even want to blink lest the other boy disappeared.
He thought to himself that this couldn’t really be happen.
Chinen pressed a kiss to the corner of Ryutaro’s lips. It was chaste, a brush of his lips and then it was gone.
“I want you to keep looking only at me.”
Ryutaro gulped.
“This is mine.” Another kiss was pressed against his lips.
Ryutaro was too stunned to move, pinned as he was his chaste kisses and whisper of fingertips against his skin.
It had started with Chinen pinning him to the wall by accident. All those moments over the years had culminated into this singular moment. Even though he had been borderline miserable for months, the fact that it had turned out like this it was worth it.
Ryutaro realised, that if it was Chinen then, well, that was all that mattered.
