If you happen to write about it I'll be thrilled. I'm sucking up expat writing like cold water right now, especially Americans in Muslim countries.
I have this strange talent for getting wee brads into cinderblock walls and masonry; I know I should use a drill, but I start tap tap tapping just to see. Only works for small paintings though. :)
you're moving to pakistan?! i have finally had a minute to read a bit of lj. no wonder you're sucking up expat writing like cold water! hey, you'll be in my neck of the woods. :0)
i gave the brads a try... i don't think i have your talent... bummer. so, i pulled out my trusty drill. i just love my drill! i'm so glad i brought it even though converting the power will probably shorten the lifespan.
no, we didn't bring a dog... just our three cats. that went rather smoothly all things considered.
i do know someone who brought at least one dog... somehow i think she told me they brought two. would you like me to see if i can get her email address? from what i remember of her conversation they didn't have any problems.
are there any quarantine issues in pakistan? there is no quarantine here, but we had to have all papers in order... specific shots, exam, etc... and signed by someone in some government office.
man, your moves happen bangbangbang! seems like you have very little time to digest it all... you just have to GO.
he will go for a full day... from 8 to 3. last week he went until 11:30 and this week until 12:30. next week he does the full day. i feel a little big guilty admitting that i'm mostly glad he's in kindergarten. i think he needs it.. and i know i do!
I remember when my two were both finally in school. It's a MUCH deserved break for you and you ought to enjoy it, you've earned it mamma. Plus you're so refreshed and enthused to see them when they get home. It's good for all involved.
With Natey we're in a completely different phase. As he is about to enter his junior year in hs, he has informed me that he is going to move out for senior year. I told him, "No, you're not." His reply was "I'll be 18 mom and there's nothing you can do about it." Natey's bday is in October, so he will turn 18 one month into senior year.
And yes, it is nice to see you back. I hope you'll have time to post with some regularity. :-)
yes, he's doing very well already. i think he needed the challenge. karina was the same before she went to school. the challenge and stimulation does them a world of good!
and woohooooo on the create part!!!
how is your job going? i read that you are braving the driving and doing well with it. go you!!!
hey there stranger!! so glad to "hear" from you! ;o)
kids in school = more time to play and create alone!
what are the ceilings made of? can you hang a hook in them and then a fishing wire (strong as you need) from it and hang your stuff off of it? like a gallery would do?
ooooo... thank you! so happy to hear from you too. i miss you bunches too! i read from time to time, but haven't seemed to have the time to really read.
i'll be glad for the time alone. i do need it; epecially whith john workin so much.
how is florida treating you? you liking it? i need to catch up. grrrr.....
i finally gave in and used the drill. it was eaasier... much easier.

Yes, your neck of the woods! Did you happen to take a dog with you when you made the move, or know anyone who did?

Your life has just entered a new realm, with both kids in school now. Will he go for a full or a half day?
