If you're planning a bonfire for the burnable stuff, make sure you're actually allowed to set fire to things wherever you are. We had a small bonfire the other day to get rid of some lumber and it ended with a couple of men from the fire department showing up in our driveway to enforce a no-burn ordinance that we hadn't heard about. XD At least we got to roast marshmallows first.

Even better, that same night, our neighbors up the hill decided to have a huuuuuuge fire on their property, and they rang the fire siren and called out the whole brigade for that one. That must have been embarrassing. XD Bet they got fined too.

That is one delightful thing about where my parents live. They're in the county, so no city ordinances, and as long as there's no burn ban in effect due to dry weather, you can basically do what you want. XD plenty of rain last week, so...up in flames it goes.

Good thing too...there were a number of unfortunate photos and letters in with things I sorted. First wedding, etc. Shit's gotta go!
