(no subject)
I took another step forward with my bike trip. I've got a series of posters up with my basic route and most dates listed. I've already got the route as a spreadsheet with mileage and everything else, but I think it will be more fun to visualize it this way. Plus it adds some badly needed decoration to my sitting room.
I still need to get good maps of SE Asia and China along with finishing the dates for the US. My route for the US is still undergoing some significant flux, so I don't have all of them just yet. Fortunately the start and end dates of the trip are not fixed, allowing me to change those dates without impacting the rest of the trip.
I've been working on some other things as well. I've got a well organized collection of gear, with everything I need for a basic tour right now. There are still a few toys that I want to add which will make the trip more comfortable (such as a solar charger), but I have all the basics. I've also got some plans made for this summer. RAGBRAI in July, and some or all of the Mississippi river as well. I was sick earlier in the month which may keep me from having enough vacation time to do the entire Mississippi this summer, but I should be able to get some of it done.
