i don't want obama to win. i want edwards to. that's right. i said it.
obama is not liberal enough for me. his health care plan is laughable. he's been shifty on abortion rights, and he's not supportive of gay marriage.
i want someone to stand up and say "hey, conservative right, fuck you. this is how our country NEEDS to be run." and edwards is willing to do that. obama is a great guy, and i will of course vote for him if he becomes the democratic candidate.
"I absolutely believe to my soul that this corporate greed and corporate power has an ironclad hold on our democracy." - Edwards
I don't know as much as I should about Edwards or Obama's health care plans, but I do know he does definitively support a woman's right to choose. He also believes, as I do, that its up to the individual denominations to decide how to define marriage, but that all committed partners, man or woman or whatever, should have the same legal rights in a civil union as a man and a woman.
Obama has said the very same sort of things about capitalism and coporate greed, but he does not focus on that the way that Edwards has. I don't know much about Edwards, but I like him very much. The fact is, I think he's coming on a little strong.
If this world were the kind of place I wish it was, it would be a Nader/Kucinich ticket. but that isn't possible, you can't make that kind of leap. I think you can go from what we have now to what Obama is offering, maybe what Edwards is too. I keep hearing whispers from the campaigns of Obama/Edwards... here's hoping.
Either way, I don't care who anyone votes for, as long as they vote for a democrat.
oh i'm with you there. i don't know what i'd do if we elect another republican.
and i agree that edwards is coming on pretty strong, but i think that it's a good thing. republicans haven't been afraid to be agressive and firm in their beliefs, and i'm sick of democrates pandering to the middle.
on the subject of edwards, i don't like the fact that he was beating the drums for iraq, check out his wikipedia article, it has a one of his quotes from before the war...
