the pasta / omelette station at out cafeteria uses those new magnetic induction stoves. JEALOUS!   ...I've head of them before, but never seen them till now.

I love the food we have here. Everything is great: the Moroccan chicken & couscous, ratatouille, veal, lo-mein.. everything

its great... you can touch the smooth glass surface and it is cool to the touch. no heating element on it. basically, it spits out a crazy alternating variable current, which excites molecules of the metal of the pot or pan you have on it, which causes it to heat up. part awesome engineering, part magic!

the advantages are that it heats up almost instantaneously! turn it on, put oil or something in it, and BAM.. you're ready to cook. and its more efficient. also, it doesn't heat up your house when you use it.. unlike a normal stove.
