Well, I can't say I've ever known any pirates, but it's my understanding they do tend to like sparkly things.

Yeah, I haven't seen any batteries, at least none that I recognize as batteries. I'll probably have to make some, if I can find the right components.

[Kurtis is at the item shop, too. He has been trying to make a communication device for a while, but he hasn't had much luck. He's looking at many of the same parts as Uhura.]

[And this is possibly one of the strangest beings Uhura has encountered in Luceti so far. Still, she glances at him briefly and goes back to her examination of items.]

Clearly I'm not alone in my quest. Are you trying to build a communication device, too?

I've been trying to for several weeks now. I even met a robot with a built-in communication device, but her range was limited.

We'd need something with a long range, as long as we can get, really, if there's to be any chance of making contact outside the barrier.

Finding an antenna in this place will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Not that I think it would be much help, anyway.

As the Captain has stated, a different form of transmitter will be necessary. The alternative energy source can be unpredictable.
