I thought you'd like the Shep whumpage in that one, Lis. *grins* Part two of That Others May Live is about 1/2 done and part three has its prelims down. Thanks for asking... and remembering. I'm glad you liked Captives. - JS

You sure don't believe in whumping them by halves!

Finally got around to reading this. Good work!

Very well done. I like your take on Ronon. Rodney is great as well. I'll be watching for the next part.

Actually I've read everything in your journal. I'm just horrible about about commenting. I'm trying to be better about it. It's just whiteraven, if you're going to use my screen name. I know how delays can happen when RL decides to step on your toes. I hope you find time to be able to write more soon.

Well I'd definitely like to hear from you more if you find it within yourself. I'm glad you read everything in my journal, that makes me feel good that you at least found them enjoyable enough to keep going. lolol. I'm hoping I'll get more work done on it tonight as a matter of fact. All seems quiet so far. *grin* - JS

Wow, talk about some seriously harsh Shep-whupping! I'm not sure what was worse, John taking the beating or Ronon feeling helpless. Well done.

Thanks Grey... probably a bit of both, each enduring their own torture.

And I apologize, cuz I had told you that I'd be posting this and I couldn't believe it when I visited the Shep/Dex LJ this morning and saw that I never posted this story there when it was finished and it's been finished since about March.

I'm glad you liked it. I know there's alot of Shep-whumping fans out there and I think Ronon IS John's "Thousandth Man" so this series title seemed to fit this and future stories. Working on the second half of this story, "Healing" right now. Thanks for the comment! - JS

Ah I loved Rambo-Rodney in this! Lol

Everything in the room turned the shade of red as the Satedan let loose an impassioned savagery on the men inside.

That is so one of my favorite sentences! "impassioned savagery" Great imagery! Can't wait to read 'Healing'! ;-)

Oh and I love the poem you chose at the end; so fitting for the story! ;-)

Actually when Ronon first started to show himself as a loyal friend who'd go through anything to save or protect his friends, I had said out loud to a friend "Ronon is Sheppard's Thousandth Man"......... and that's when the muse struck that this relationship needed to be focused on.

I'm glad you agree. Thanks for all the feedback!- John

Thanks again Storm! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I could just see our new Rodney going all out at this point in his life. He's grown a lot in five years with his new friends. Thanks for the feedback! It's appreciated. - John
