the ides of April

I think today was a pretty significant point in my life. The past few months, and the time I have before returning to Professional/Graduate school in the fall I have dedicated to resolving a lot of issues that I have been carrying around in many cases since childhood, most of which contributed to the most dissapointing years of my life, and also ( Read more... )

Just to be a tad pedantic, the in April the Ides falls on the 17th.

It's just one of those wierd things one learns and then can't forget.

The Calends were monthly holidays. Most months they fall on the 17th. In March it's the 15th. Because of Shakespeare (and a lack of faith in the Roman gods, much less their rituals) people just assume each month is the same as any other.

Doesn't make a bit of difference, since the idea of the Ides as a major point of change has become the ruling idea of them.
