We need more Agent Carter

So I finally got around to finishing up Agent Carter (it's really hard to watch TV shows with kids around, either because said show is not age appropriate or the kids won't leave you alone long enough to watch 5 minutes at a time). I was thoroughly impressed, especially with the epilogue clip. We definitely need another series. There is so much ( Read more... )

It was so nice to have them show her damaged, and slowly learning to trust again. And I think they did a good job capturing the era and how her post war treatment would have rankled given everything she did during the war. It was nice to see her actually earn some respect by the end, something it was very hard for a woman to do. There was just so much character growth in the show from so many of them. And of course the tag scene really leaves things open and you have a good idea of how Zola was able to lay down the foundation for his Hydra plan. It picked up at the end of one Captain America movie and tied in to the second. Very well done.

Drone doesn't watch any drama on tv - so when we both watch something, it's mostly documentaries.

I've watched the first to seasons of Downtown Abbey and thoroughly enjoyed them.
I'm also folling Arrow and The Flash - altough I'm not up to date. That's what I watch while working out on the Crosstrainer.

As have watched and enjoyed Agents of Shields ( I'm not up to dater here either), I will probably be watching Agent Carter after I have caught up with the other shows.

I don't have the problem with kids disturbing me while watching - with me it's more my husband who want's to be in the same room with me, but always wants to share what he is reading with me ...

J will watch some stuff. I think long run I can get him into SHIELD and Arrow. Mad Men is almost over, but he might have enjoyed that. Not sure since Draper is such a dark and sleazy character and the others aren't that much better. When he gets back we may try this show Turn which is set during the American Revolution and is told from the point of view of American spies. That might be interesting to him. There is just so much drivel on TV (lots of reality and contest shows and overly formulaic sitcoms with the lovefest for procedurals with multiple versions of NCIS and CSI), though some of the cable channels are doing interesting shows. If Dig turns out to be good I'll have to get him to check that out. So far it's been interesting and look at the whole Judeo-Christian-Muslim connection to Jerusalem in a conspiracy way I've not seen. It is odd hearing Jason Isaacs talk with an American accent, though he does a better job at it than some other actors (I never got around to catching Awake when it aired and haven't revisited it as it go ( ... )
