There are times I don't understand people professing to be Christian

For those not in the US (since I presume Europeans are getting coverage of real news like the Syrian refugee crisis), it was recently ruled that there is no constitutional reason why homosexuals cannot marry and the Supreme Court declared it perfectly legal. It really is that simple, but the idiots in the Christian right are seeing this as a 'war on Christianity'. Um, no, a war is when the kill you for you beliefs. ISIS is a war on Christianity. This is telling you to keep your religion out of your publicly paid job. Want to discriminate against gays, go work for your church. Their only defense would be they were elected to their positions (quite a few judges are elected here) before it was the law of the land, but if you can't uphold the law, you need to resign and quit pushing your morals on everyone. These folks for the most part would not dream of denying a marriage license to an inter-racial couple. They are treating gay couples the same way inter-racial couples were treated in the past ( ... )

Even among the real news, an article about that incident has stood out ... yes, we have read about it.
If her religion is hindering her in doing her job, she needs to find herself a new job.

Yup, couldn't agree more. The sad thing is because she's an elected official, she needs to be recalled by the state legislature, which doesn't convene until January and the governor is rightfully reluctant to spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for a special session over one person (though I guess there are 2 other county clerks also refusing, but for some reason they haven't become big time news, perhaps because those gay couples just went to the next county over for their license, which honestly, if I were one of the couples involved who really wanted to get married, I would probably have done the same thing while also pursuing legal action against this bigot ( ... )
