:OO I'm so excited for Sherlock Holmes! I loved the first one (and I'm generally a Shelock Holmes otaku, if you will). Was it super amazing?

Happy holidays!

It was super amazing. I was pretty much enthralled and/or delighted the entire time.

Happy holidays, dear. ♥

Hello, love! It's been ages, it seems. Your holiday sounds absolutely fabulous. Out here in inaka, I've mostly been binge reading and staring at snow with disdain.

When do you finish your studies? I'm hoping it's not before I finally manage to get my ass back to Cali. We have to get together again sometimes and reminisce about KenKen in his native habitat.

*hugs*

Happy holidays!

Yeah, I've been bad about posting about real things of substance this last little bit (and commenting, even), but I'm trying to catch up. The snow loves you and just wants to be close to you~ And I suppose you can always drown your sorrows in Leigh's cookies. *_*

I'm done with my MA this academic year, though I might still be in LA after that. I'm taking a break before my Ph.D. program, but my hope is that I'll be in California for a good number of years, so perhaps we'll be able to have our reminiscing after all.

Happy holiday! ♥

Fantastico. I'll likely be heading back to the Ventura region, which is just a drive down PCH away from the LA area. That won't be until March of 2013, though.

Tintin! I didn't read much of the comics when I was younger, but most of my memories of it involve my old French teacher bringing in the untranslated versions for us to flip through and play with. I loved the movie though; it was just such fun.

Hmm, do you mean that you don't like bromance-type dynamics in general, or do you just not like terming it "bromance" semantically?

The movie was really nicely done. I loved the characterization, the scene shifts, the storytelling. It was superbAnd! It's a semantic/cultural thing, I guess. I actually went on a Tumblr tag rant about it once, and I'm a little sleepy right now/lazy always so I'm just going to copy-paste these tags here ( ... )

Ah, yeah, completely legit. I guess for me, "bromance" connotes a very particular type of closeness that I tend to be a fan of -- traditionally between two dudes, sure, but I like that sort of dynamic just as much (if not more so) between a guy and a girl, or two girls. In a culture that tends to emphasize the strongest bonds between people as almost always being something sexual or romantic -- which irritates me to no end -- I gravitate towards anything where platonic bonds get that same level of importance. A friend and I have talked wayyyy too much about what you call a bromance between ladies (braaaamance?)

That said, I totally get where you're coming from on being bothered by the semantic issues. I mean, I'm a Bryn Mawr girl who pseudo-secretly has beef with the word "feminism" (stone ducking time!) entirely for semantic reasons, so yes. Words do things!

That box set sounds rather amazing. So very amazing.

Ah, I'm glad you seem to be more relaxed. A relaxed Inez is a good Inez. :Db

Oh the Sherlock Holmes movies. I really should see those one of these days. Ah, I suppose I'll get to it eventually~

It seems we're supposed to "tell you everything". Ah, what to tell you? Hmm... I'm rather good, I guess that would be all at the moment.

Happy Holidays~ ♥

I'm super excited! I can never get enough of classic musicals (musicals in general, really).

You shooouuuuuld watch Sherlock Holmes! Not quite canonically accurate, apparently, but they're just a lot of fun to watch.

Good is good. Let's hope this overall goodness lasts for the both of us. ♥
