Growin' up~

Last night, after a particularly nasty argument with my mom, I broke my nearly 25-year streak of never having punched a hole in a wall.

It's not like we have a bad relationship. )

May things get better. And may you find a good job soon. My BFF went ABD- getting a doctoral degree is not for everyone. Best wishes and much love- and many many hugs.

Thank you, Heidi. You're always of great support to me.

And I definitely want to be sure of getting a Ph.D. if that's really where I'm headed, so taking a few years to make sure isn't a bad idea, I think.

I agree with finding a new environment for a while. Sometimes we need it to distract our minds of things, and well, who knows right? Many streets to Rome, kind of thing? Sometimes our plans are ruined, but it may be for the better. Parents can be really annoying, but well, it's not like we can actually do anything about it, safe for complaining and being angry at them.
I wish you well with the job finding, but even if you're not comfortable with the new place, you can always search for something new, so yeah, let's tackle this steps of adulthood one by one, together (as together as we could be, you in USA and me in Indonesia XD)
I'll pass on something my dad said to me about two years ago, something that I always say to myself when I'm facing any difficulties. "It's okay to fail. Many people are afraid of failing, but when you have reached my age, you'll know that failing is nothing. In fact, you have to fail at that age."

*BIG HUGS* Remember that I'll be here if you need anything :)

Definitely. We're still young; there's lots to try. And I'm going to be optimistic and say that even if things don't go the way we think they will at first, that doesn't mean we failed -- maybe we were meant to go elsewhere all along.

Thank you. ♥

I'm thrilled to hear from you! I'm so happy I was able to meet someone as obviously caring and supportive as you, and I hope from now on we get to be good friends. ♥

And yes, it's hard to know what we really want at this stage in our lives. I've heard that it's okay not to know for a long time, but it's hard to put into practice. XD I'll do my best, though! You, too. :D

I'm sorry to hear about your argument... that sort of thing is the most frustrating, or at least, in my experience it is, so I hope things get better. And your thought process on school sounds really good and well-thought-through... so I'm sure something will work out! Good luck with finding a job! ♥

Definitely frustrating, yeah, but at least it always sorts itself out.

Thank you! I definitely think this is the right choice right now, so thank you for your support. ♥ がんばる!

Ah, fights with parents. They bring out the best in us, don't they?

I haven't really thought of Austin. The place I listed are ones I'm interested in because I have at least one person there or easily accessible that I can call on if I need to; it just seems a lot easier to move and live if I can count on someone to help me out. Philadelphia is where most of my college friends are and they'd love to have me back, apparently. I also have a few friends in the Bay Area, and I love SF so I feel like that'd be a nice place to be, too. I guess we'll see where life takes me~

My Skype is LTGMars (predictably), so feel free to add me. :D Would love to chat with you again!
