Yes this plot you are a genius. Main character sounds like he has a lot of passive angst. OH BUT HOW DOES HE GET TO THAT CHANGING POINT AND START OPENING UP TO MR. MAN? Curiouser and curiouser ಠ益ಠ Maybe they wouldn't get along well when they meet at first because the other guy also has trust issues and and and...I forgot what to say as I typed that. Mr. Man could be blunt so as to make an impression on main character boy? AND THEN MR. FORMER FRIEND WHO BROKE THEIR TRUST COMES BACK AND IT'S A HUGE BOWL OF ANGST?

Oh, oh, what if Mr. Man acts insane (he's not really, I don't think...) just to scare people away and because he's a giant ball of angst. And Main Character Boy is all... *stalk* "What the hell is he doing." *stalks some more* IT'S PERFECT
