There's almost always a good time to talk to your commanding officer (provided things aren't blowing up around our poor ears, or other common sense things), however are you sure that you wouldn't like a few days to settle in on board first? I'm pretty certain that provided you don't mind flexible time, all times other than 0800A-0900A and 1200P-300P on Tuesday are open.

The first rule of Engineering is that the door to my office is always open.
