Ten Days in London

Sep 15, 2017 14:26

I just got back from ten days in London!

Copiously illustrated account on my game design blog, since main purpose of visit was to attend conference on professional wargaming.
I got to role-play Kim Jong Un, saw where Throbbing Gristle used to live and work, went to a puppet play, and traveled to far-off Dagenham.

Check it out! game design, conference, travel

The home of Industrial Records! I expected it to look a little more intense.

Have you read Wreckers of Civilisation: The Story of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle? It is unfortunately out-of-print and expensive, but an amazing book about TG and its precursors.

I imaging it was a bit more dark and threatening back in the day, when Hackney was really run down.
I've heard of Wreckers but never seen it.
I would also like to read Cosey's new autobiography, I think she is a more reliable narrator than GPO.
