So it's bachîn and not bâchin. No prob. Word will do a simple 'find and replace' for me. I wish there was some way to delete things from the Word 'dictionary', though. Still, it keeps me on my toes when the variations are offered

You've written something? *looks around* Where is it? I ain't seeing nothing? Oh, and isn't there a recipe for black butter somewhere? I'm sure the same applies here as anywhere else - everybody has their own way of doing it. And why can I sense the smell of the gently simmering fruit when I've never made it either?
:) I'm working on the second draft of Building Freedom, which is why nothing has been posted. The black butter scene is where the principle character meets the love interest. She has to make a profound impression on him.
The recipe I have for black butter starts with 2 cabots of cider (10 gallons) and about 12 barrels of apples and takes roughly 30 hours to cook, requiring continuous stirring. Which is why I buy it online. ;) It's all the niggly little details that add reality that are bogging me down. At the moment, I've got long stretches of plain conversation. Not very interesting to read!
And why can I sense the smell of the gently simmering fruit when I've never made it either? Really? :D I can't smell a thing. Nose bleed, well, persistantly oozy Little's area owing to infection.
