So how "incredibly common" were these group invasions of your home in this "very bad area"? Like once a week or something?

Several of my friends at both colleges were attacked by at minimum pairs, usually by groups of three or more.

Thankfully, I was never attacked.

I similarly live on the edge of a bad area now - no place in the Bay Area is not 'on the edge of a bad area'. We get the occasional break-in at my complex but no attacks for a while.

Oakland riots were less than five miles away.
