Don't get your hopes up (or man the barricades) there's nothing done yet beyond buying the domain.
However I'm not going to Eastercon and LB is grounded (after
getting totally ratted on mead at the Twitter
pawpawty Sunday night). So we've got some time to spend on setting up a site this weekend.
Content is not a big problem. There's already a bit material that needs to be moved over from Ursanity and I'll probably sling in a load of widgets to pull all the LB-generated content that's already polluting the web - his
Facebook fan page,
his Blog,
Flickr,
YouTube, LJ (obviously),
Twitter and
StumbleUpon.
However, the burning question is the LOOK. On this we cannot agree. We both hate the traditional cute teddy bear sites that have naff GIF animations, needlepoint backgrounds and utterly pathetic references to "my hooman". LB certainly does not do "cute" and he knows better than to refer to me as staff (in my hearing anyway).
I'm leaning towards a steam punk look but LB favours techno and ripping off cliched SF styles. He's already had a go at a banner for the current site. I'm not really in love with it - although watching a bear grappling with Photoshop was quite entertaining.
We've tried sensible, adult way of reaching a compromise; I can arm wrestle him to the floor effortlessly but he go longer without blinking and we've reached an impasse. So I'm throwing it open.
What kind of style would you associate with LB and expect to find on his website?
