Poyo Yo! Demon Visual Novel
gem2niki and my venture into visual novels for NaNoRenO '13. Well, mostly gem2niki's effort. I was just along for the ride with writing the story. It was great fun though! 8D
For those who don't know what visual novels are, they are games that play like interactive fiction. Kind of like a choose your own adventure book but with pictures and music! We attempted branching storylines but ran out of time, so there is only one completed route. Some choices can't be chosen. The art is also very rough!

Synopsis: Yuu* holds no love for demons. Because of them, Yuu has always had to crossdress to hide her identity. When she joins GateLight Corp, a supposedly ordinary, renewable energy company, she never thought she would end up having to confront them.
*player character (You get to name her, hence "Yuu," haha...)
These characters were conceptualized by gem2niki quite some time ago, but their background was never filled out until we fleshed them out for this game. This is really just a preview since we didn't get very far with the game. The entire explanation behind demons, the main character's background, the other coworkers, etc... not dealt with so far. Some characters don't even make an appearance. ): I wanted to write them...
More info and pics. Spark barely shows up. Ember is only mentioned in passing. Deirdre doesn't even get mentioned! We mostly focused on team 1 this time, and mostly on Faing. I even wrote Skye out of part of the game. 8D;; Was trying to keep it simple.
Yuu and Nox were both designed specifically for the game. With Yuu, both of us immediately wanted a crossdressing heroine, so that's how she came to be. XD Since the game is from her POV, you don't see very many drawings of her, but some CGs do include her. I find her design really cute. :D
As for Nox, gem2niki asked me what kind of design I'd like to see. So I rambled off (but mostly I wanted long hair). Hahaha, he is exactly the type of character I like! XD; /Nox bias. Depending on your choices in the game though, you might miss him entirely.
Faing has the best expressions so far. Gem2niki spent a lot of effort on his sprites. I wish we could have gotten more into his powers, but at least we got a fight scene in. :3
