Reporting In [Traverse Town - Open to Integra]

Mar 26, 2007 00:28

The message from Integra had come as a welcome surprise after the decidedly odd encounter with the man in black. He'd spent a good few minutes just staring at the ends of his wire and the space where the man had disappeared, trying to piece together what had happened. He'd disappeared into darkness, called that portal from nothing. There was ( Read more... )

Integra took a little longer in getting to the rendezvous point. After leaving the message for Yohji she'd navigated her way back from the shoddy hotel and towards the first district, feeling resolved but mostly very tired. She had to get back to Hollow Bastion to meet with Sora and the Princesses. Soon. At the very least the lower ranks were going to be doing a lot of relief work tonight.

Even as she thought about the situation, calmly, methodically, Integra found a slow burning anger rising from somewhere deep inside. By the time she reached the cafe there may as well have been an aura of cold fury around her because even the few patrons that remained had the sense to avoid her eye. With what little control she had left, she stubbornly refused to act on her impulse to hurt something; she was saving it for the damn bastards that had managed to cause all of this ( ... )

Yohji noticed the second that she entered the building. No-one else could emit that much fury without acting on it, he was sure. He stood as she approached, offering her a formal bow. In other, less dire situations, he was given leeway to act less formally, one of the advantages of his unusual position, but this was not the time or the place and the General was a dangerous woman.

He sat down a moment after she did, adopting a position which looksed disamingly lazy, but allowed him to move quickly if need be. "I don't see what else it can be about," he replied quietly, glancing out of the window and up at the sky which was much darker than usual.

"So many people..."

Integra nodded solemnly, her fingers pressing into the backs of her hands for a moment. "Far too many."

She closed her eyes for a moment, breathing deeply once. When she opened her eyes again, there was still murder lurking behind them. Of one thing she was absolutely certain: there would be reprcussions for this.

"I'm going to Hollow Bastion tonight." She told Yohji. "I need you to stay here and take my ship back in the morning. Those two from the hotel will be waiting to be picked up."

She wasn't asking him, she was ordering him. She trusted Yohji to take care of this efficiently even if it wasn't his usual job. She smirked very slightly. There was one other reason she couldn't ask someone else to do this job. "I'm sure I can trust you to be careful with Alucard's coffin."

A sigh of frustration and anger escaped Yohji's lips. He could still feel that sensation coiling within his heart; terror the like of which he'd never felt before and hoped never to feel again.

He nodded in reply to Integra's commands, not surprised in the least by the news. Hollow Bastion would be in turmoil and she'd need to consult with the Council, not to mention organising military operations. The sooner she got back, the better. "Mustang and the armour guy, right?" he asked, narrowing his eyes curiously. "They're getting involved in the military?" He could think of no other explanation for why Integra was offering them a lift. Hollow Bastion wasn't too difficult to get to otherwise.

Wait... Alucard's coffin? His eyes widened slightly in surprise at the last part of the order. He'd rarely seen the vampire out of Intagre's company and now he was charged with making sure they all got to Hollow Bastion safely. He smiled weakly. "It's more than my life's worth to not be careful," he said ruefully.
