It's obvious I haven't felt like writing in the past few months. That probably would have continued until my usual end of the year recap post had Golden Sun: Dark Dawn not utterly annoyed me as much as it does. Having enjoyed the standard role playing and solidly built puzzles of Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age, I was eager to see how

I more or less paid $35 for Elemental Critters and Dungeon Puzzles the Video Game, so unless that sounds like a good idea to you then stay far away!

Despite it's flaws I still got Dark Dawn. Even a mediocre Golden Sun game is better than most J-RPGs.

It's just a real shame that I feel compelled to rip on this game because the dungeons just are that good. I guess that alone is something compared to JRPGs nowadays. But when the game is littered with arbitrary design decisions in which I apparently permanently missed some things because I didn't dick around on the world map, it's real hard to be forgiving.
