[Which obviously meant she had to go find her wayward husband. In seconds, she's out of bed and out the door, only taking a moment to remember her shoes and not even bothering to change out of her pajamas.]
[Unfortunately, in her hurry, she forgets that running and blindness don't mix. She's only outside for a few minutes before she trips and falls on her face. Gdit.]

Well, he doesn't run for long. He spots her on the ground. His heart skips a beat as he's overwhelmed with concern. He's by her side in a flash.]
C-Cheyenne! [Here his voice softens. He doesn't want it to sound like he's yelling at her.] Are you okay?

I woke up alone. It was... an unpleasant feeling. [She was worried, but more than that, she was lonely. Did he leave intentionally? Did something happen? She didn't know. And she didn't like not knowing.]
...may I embrace you?

[And he means all of it. At her question, his look of concern reshapes into a soft one. He smiles.]
You don't even have to ask.
[Then he wraps his arms around her and holds on, gently but also firmly. So what if they're in public; if Cheyenne wants to hug in her pajamas, then she can do just that. He's not going anywhere, now.]

[And then she didn't let go for all 10 days of the event.]
...shall we go home? I imagine it must be chilly for you, seeing as it is still quite early. [That and she's very aware that she has icicle hugs.]

Despite what she says, he holds on silently for a little longer. Even then, he doesn't let go. Not in the slightest. It doesn't matter how cold it is, be it from the weather or from her -- none of that matters because he's happy to be doing this.]
Mm, it's not that bad. [To the earlier bit:] If you want to. Shall we?

[Cheyenne nods slightly before moving to stand. She hesitates only a moment before pulling out of the hug, but manages to slide her hand down his arm and holds his hand instead.]
[She's probably going to latch on again once he's standing anyway.] I suppose stranger things have happened in the village than our being separated in the middle of the night. Although that does not make it any less inconvenient, does it?

Alf lets her do as she pleases and puts his other hand over theirs when she grasps it. He chuckles.]
No, it doesn't. But we've found each other, so that shouldn't be a problem anymore.
[He rises, slowly to not accidentally break physical contact.]

[And once Alf is on his feet, she wraps an arm around his waist and hugs his side, keeping just enough space between them so they can still walk.]
...regardless, I do hope it does not occur again. [Her grip on his hand tightens just a bit.] I do not like being apart from you, Alf.

Both gestures are more welcome than anything, and he squeezes back when her grip on his hand becomes firmer.]
Nor do I from you, Cheyenne. I promise you, it won't happen again.

It it unwise to make a promise you cannot keep, my darling. [It's not like they could control the weird happenings of the village.]
However, I am at the very least confident that no shift could keep us separated for long.
Reply
But I can try, can't I? You know I will.
[He nods. He'd make sure of that much, at the least.]
Now that's a promise we both know we'll be able to keep no matter what!
