She lives in an apartment by herself...
Aerith blinks a few times in utter bafflement at the very-obviously-occupied-by-another apartment she woke up in before heading out to the hallway and opening the door to check the number.]
What in the world happened this time...?
Reply
Clearly, she is unhappy. More so than usual, even. And she just happens to spot Aerith as she... well, deliberately glares down the first floor hallway. Lucky her.
Approaching...! ] Aerith. Have you seen-- [ ... Uh. Why are you just standing there in the hall like that? ]
Reply
So yeah, wondering what she's doing in the hall is a very valid question.
She wishes she had an answer; instead, to head off the question that seems impending, she asks her own:] Have I seen who?

....... ]
Haine.
[ You know, her son. Her son who was not in the apartment this morning again, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT BOY?!
..... But no, really, did you just come out of Zack's apartment in your pajamas, Aerith? Have a slowly darkening expression plus hand on her hip combo at that. ]

[She looks down at herself. No, she cannot look for anyone in her pajamas. She looks back up at Lightning's dark scrutiny. She looks for an escape that doesn't involve her pajamas meeting broad daylight or Zack's own examinations.]
...Gosh, I don't know where he'd go! But you know him best, I'm sure you know all his hiding spots-- [So please go look for your son and stop looking at her like that D:]

Also, Aerith may notice that she's actually being stared at by two sets of eyes... although one is considerably lower, set into a face that is furry, black, and looking out from behind Lightning's legs.
And-- c'mon girl, you should know Lightning never gives up on something without a fight asking. ] ... What are you doing here?

A shift. [ Said flatly and a little relieved, with the sort of worn-down resentment that comes from living her entire life under this place's unpredictable effects on them. She gives a quiet groan as she transfers her weight to the other foot, looking back down the hall behind her. ] Well, if it's just stuff and people, I doubt the Malnosso are going to do anything this time.
[ HOW FREAKING ANNOYING. ]

Mom. There you are. I'm starving. You could have at least told me you were going out. [He huffs and crosses his arms.]
Where's Haine?

[ And she'd possibly offer to help herself, but... this is totally not awkward at all and-- SAVED, BY SON #2. SPOILT BRAT. Lightning turns toward him, her own hand still placed firmly on her hip... though her voice does go softer for talking to him in particular. ]
Hope... there's stuff in the apartment. [ Or there should be. Sigh. ] And... I don't know. There's been a Shift. Moving people and stuff around, apparently. [ That at least explains how the older boy was able to completely clean out his room without her noticing.... ]

Guess convincing Zack's the thing to do! You should give Haine a call on the journals. Or have you done that already?
Reply
[Hope gives another sullen look when the Shift's mentioned.] Not again. I hate those stupid Shifts! Did they really move Haine and all of his stuff?
[He stoops down to pet the dog, who's now happily jumping up in an attempt to lick his face in greeting.] I didn't bring my journal with me. Maybe one of you can call him. He was supposed to help me with my homework.
Why are you talking about Zack, anyway?

Just go, Hope. I'll be up in a minute. [ She squares herself up, closing her eyes briefly with brows drawn. Is she trying to put an end to things before the Issues With Father-Age Men come up? Maybe. ] I'll call Haine if he doesn't show up.
[ ... Not that she expects he will. The glance she throws to Aerith isn't all that hard to read. ]

[...Oh, yes, she recognizes that look from Lightning, eliciting a soft sigh from her. Especially since, for all her sternness... Lightning's pretty obviously a softy when it comes down to family. Haine not turning up must hurt.]

[He's usually not this grouchy, but... the disorientation and the apparent disappearance of his big brother, combined with not-a-morning-person-itis has the kid in a bit of a low mood.]
I guess I'll go back... but if I do that, I'm calling Haine myself. He has to be around here somewhere.
