... He's always been the practical sort.
Now, he does not, by any means, want to actually be at the festival. Oh, no. He clearly doesn't. He is going out of his way to distance himself from most of the festivities, right now. But he knows that he should, in the interest of ethics (because his parents always taught him to value his ethics code, and that was one of the few things they did that he appreciated), be at least interested in the safety of the other villagers. And so he is checking the electrical equipment in the festival, making sure that it has access to power, that there aren't any frayed or damaged cords, that a power surge isn't likely to fry half the festival... that sort of thing ( ... )

When he sees Don, Robert definitely brightens and returns the nod, though not too enthusiastically. Public place, after all. Still, he falls into line next to him.]
The equipment on-stage should be fine. I've given it a once-over for Rupert and the others.
Everything here seem alright? So far the only damage I've seen is minor. [Robert pauses thoughtfully.] Admittedly, the groundskeepers have kept the wiring in more-or-less good condition.

All in order. [He drops the cable he was pretending to inspect.] It still doesn't do justice to the music.

[A rare smile escapes Robert.] Think we could manage to finagle enough time to watch the concert, perhaps...?
[Assuming they allow it.]

And I'd like to see Rupert in action, so to speak...
He suggested I should possibly take up a string instrument. Perhaps I ought to. It might be a good hobby... [It's better than drinking, at least.
... Not that Robert says that out loud, but Donatello will know. They live right next to each other. Don's probably seen him come home drunk more than once.
Hell, he might've even gone home with him more than once...]

Like I want to listen to your squeaky violin playing. [A friendly swat.]

Robert flushes slightly at this, though he doesn't react to the swat beyond some vague awkwardness at the very back of his AU mind.] I should hope it wouldn't be squeaky. The idea would be to play it competently, right?
And knowing Rupert, he'd recommend a guitar or something of the sort.

After a moment he returns the smile as well.] ... It's been too long since we spent any time together...
[That may or may not have a double meaning.]

[He glances around.] I don't think anyone else is going to come back here.

But brothers, adopted or not, aren't usually... well... involved, so what does that weird little voice know, huh?
Robert drops his voice to a hushed, almost shy whisper. He feels like a schoolboy or something; this never fails to make him almost giddy with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation.]
... Shall we take advantage of that, then...? [He purposefully shifts into a position that's likely harder to see from outside the concert shell and runs his hands over his brother's chest slowly; purposefully.]

I think they can get along without us for a few minutes.

I'd say I would have to agree with that assessment...
[And Robert leans in to kiss his brother in what's probably the least brotherly way possible... Unless you have a very interesting idea of what a brother is.
It occurs to him, or the lucid parts of him anyway, that they're still right behind the concert shell. But maybe nobody'll notice...]

[Don lets the kiss linger, then pulls back.]
So where have you been lately?
