He approaches Giles with a small, drawn smile. Clearly he doesn't want to be anywhere near here, but... duty calls, ethics dictate he should help even if he thinks the festival's basically hogwash, and he wants to encourage his friend.]
Hello, Rupert... preparing for the concert later? From what I've heard of your practise sessions with your students, it'll be phenomenal. [He pulls himself carefully up onto the stage, pulling out several small scopes from a tool belt around ( ... )

[Robert hopes that, in the end, everything will work out. And not be too uncomfortable.
And maybe he'll stop wondering, eventually, how Giles' lips might feel, and whether they'd be anything like his brother's...]
... It'd give me a reason to come over more often, at the very least. Not that I need any.

We could certainly use all the help we could get, in the event of another Shift like Halloween.

The only recurring Shifts seem to be the ones that happen around Valentine's. Hrm. [Though those Shifts... well, the last one was rather embarrassing. And Robert doesn't know if Giles knows anything about it.]

[Giles has lived with Helios for several months now. He saw the both of them around. And considering why he and Helios will be going off to get drunk in a couple of nights, Valentine's Day is not a happy subject right now.]

[Robert's obviously awkward about the topic too. For multiple reasons. And knowing mildly why Giles isn't too thrilled, he's obviously trying to drive away from it and failing.
Robert'll probably go off to get drunk too. Eventually. Because he's a horrible alcoholic.]
... At any rate, though, they're mostly unpredictable, and I've never found any real way to catalogue the bloody things. But I may hit on a method eventually. Statistics, after all...

I know of a few others who try and keep track, when they can. Why don't you try speaking with them?

Perhaps I could find them here at the festival.
[Thoughtfully:] ... When exactly is your concert going to be, by the way? [Robert is considering staying and listening...
He smiles a bit.] If the practising sounded so nice, the concert will likely be even better, and I'm quite curious to hear it if I have time. [And if nobody will object to my presence.]

Oh, and the performance is going to be at three. I certainly hope it goes as well as our practice sessions have. By all means, stop by if you want.

And... Mr. Mulder? I believe I've heard of him.
[Robert nods at the latter part.] Donatello and I will probably find some time to show up.
...
I... er... w-well, I wish you good luck. Not that you or your students need it... [And Robert blushes and looks uncomfortably like he wants to give Giles a warm hug but is stopping himself.]

We'll take all the well wishes we can get.

He's always been obvious about his feelings. It's what happens when you don't recognize them enough to know how much you show them.]
... I should leave you to finish your preparations, and I still have more of the festival to check, so... I'll see you later, Rupert.
[A nervous smile flutters over his features before he carefully pulls away, regathers his tools, and makes to leave with obvious reluctance.]

[Giles watches Robert go for a few seconds, before going back to his chair to pick his way through more of the lunch Ami made.]
