[Derek may notice a certain reclusive scientist flitting around in rather close proximity to one of his sons, checking the electrical equipment of the festival in a way that suggests he'd rather not be at the festival at all.

Though Robert may not know Derek very well, he probably recognizes enough about him to notice the biological parent of his foster brother. So, after a moment, he cautiously approaches the man with a nervous expression.]

Mr. Bliss? [Robert smiles awkwardly.] It's... been quite awhile, hasn't it.

[He's suddenly mildly ashamed. Robert has no idea what Derek does or doesn't know about his... complex relationship with Don.]

[And if there's anything that Robert is good at, it's being terrible at reading people while being blatantly obvious about his own feelings.]

I'm glad that I could be one for him, Mr. Bliss. He deserves it.

He deserves a lot more, really. I'm only happy that my family did one good thing by taking him in. [The alternative would have been that gang, and that is a terrifying alternative.]

Thank your family for taking care of him.

[Derek understands the hesitation about letting Don get involved with Splinter's gang...but still, it troubled him. Was Splinter really doing something so harmful? He'd had to dig harder on that as he could.]

[Robert sighs a bit, bitterly.] The Third Party wasn't kind to them. Even if we... were never on amicable terms, I... wouldn't have wished that on anyone...

But Donatello and I have done well enough for ourselves. [How could they not? Both so intelligent and rich...]

Well then, thank you for being there for him.

[Robert risks a smile.]

I... I hope you've been keeping well, Mr. Bliss? [He's aware of the... diagnosis. Not very well, but enough that it's uncomfortable to be too blunt.]

Yeah, more or less. Glad I made it home in time for festival.

I'm glad too... it gives you a chance to see your children again at a time where most of us are in much better moods than usual.

[In a way, Robert's almost jealous that Derek can come back.]

... Donatello was with me earlier, but he went off to find his brothers... I imagine they'd be looking for you eventually, though. [Robert has only seen Mike and Raph in passing, and has little association with either of them - though he's seen Mike more often, due to trips to the bakery with Vivi and Mike being an in-law of Giles'.]
