Day 1; Zan'nen's body doesn't adapt well to heat, so the humidity will drag him to the verge of passing out about mid-afternoon. It may take some convincing, but he'll drag himself back to camp for some water and rest before he gets himself killed. However, as soon as it begins to cool off, Zan'nen disappears. He'd feel too useless sitting around while other people are dying around him.

Day 3 & Day 4; Hand to hand combat isn't exactly his strongest skill, so Zan'nen winds up on the wrong end of a blade quite often, and slips into a far too many traps, forcing him to use the abilities he's previously tried to keep hidden. He manages to narrowly dodge hits by slipping into dark masses, reappearing only a few feet away, and sometimes attempts to blind and bind his opponents with strange wispy shadows, with varying amounts of luck ( ... )

[It's not even long into the first day of battle when Frey comes across Zan'nen who's... not looking too good. He'll walk over to the other through the green underbrush with a concerned look on his face.] Zan'nen?

[Dressed head to toe in black isn't helping him any. He didn't hear Frey approach, so when Frey speaks, Zan'nen jumps, spinning around and almost drawing his sword on him.

He realizes it's Frey about halfway through the movement, so Zan'nen stumbles and trips over a root, obtaining his first injury of the battle and fully embarrassing himself. (because his mun is evil)]

... Dammit Frey.

Nothing's wrong! I just-, I don't like the heat. [Once Zan'nen's got a handle on his balance, he pulls away from Frey and rubs his face.]

Why the hell would she care about something like that? She doesn't even really like me. [Zan'nen shakes his head. That was a stupid thing to say, since he expected Frey to argue with him about it. He tried to change the subject instead.] You should go find her. She needs your help more than I do.

[If she hadn't noticed his distinct presence as they were all being taken to their various drop points on the first day, Kaori never would have noticed that Zan'nen had also been called into battle. She had been worried since then, though she had kept it to the back of her mind.

Kaori?! [The sharp smack of worry is instant. Zan'nen hadn't known that Kaori had been wondering around in this jungle, otherwise he would've hunted her down the moment they'd been dropped off. What the hell was she doing out here in the middle of this?! She couldn't see dammit. What if she stumbled into some poisonous animal?

Zan'nen grabbed for her hand, throwing a quick glance around the area. Quickly, he dashed for a tree, dragging her stubbornly along with him. Hopefully it would give the two of them some sort of cover.] What the hell are you doing in this?! [He glanced over her, trying to gauge if she was injured and if so, how badly. It had been two days... She'd been wondering around out here blind?!]

F-fighting? [The overwhelming worry coming from him, and suddenly being dragged alongside him took her completely by surprise. There are a significant number of cuts and bruises on her exposed skin, mostly culminated when she would trip and fall over the foreign landscape. Thanks to Mithos, there weren't as many as there could be, nor were they as severe. It was enough to keep her tired and weary, growing more as time went on.]

Why are you fighting alone? Aren't you with a group?

Of course not. [He didn't want anyone worrying about whether or not he was getting hurt, and that included you Kaori.

Also, not many people knew of his 'powers'. He wanted to keep it that way for now. Admittedly, it really didn't matter if he showcased them in Luceti, considering how many people seemed to have some sort of ability, but it was a habit he still didn't feel comfortable shaking.] You should go back to camp. It's dangerous to wander around on your own. [For you especially.]

[As Zan'nen comes back to camp on day one Winry sees him from the medical tent. She'd approach him, but he doesn't look injured, and she needs to stay out of the sun. So instead she tries to wave and call to him to get the boy's attention.]

A little. [Drafted. Right. What kind of ass sent a girl like Winry here? It makes him a bit uneasy, but he's too muddled in this heat to give anything much of an argument.]

Is it cold...? [Water. Nice, ice cold water sounded brilliant. They should just let him lay in a pool of it for a while.]
