[Giles has finally returned to the perimeter of the camp, just on the other side of the ring of traps. Maybe it's exhaustion setting in, maybe it was his talk with Paprika, but the ex Watcher seems a bit less violent and a great deal more focused in his fighting, although any Shift Hunters that come within his eyesight are still messily detonated, almost as though it's a reflex ( ... )

[Ask for help and he shall receive. Despite the heavy downfall, the sky brightens slightly just in front of Giles. Like a ray of hope the rainfall seem to be causing pain to the enemies as it fell.

The caster of this Holy Rain was not too far off. Alexei was coming towards the mass in the other direction, returning to the base camp after days out in the forest. He's tired, wet, bruised and despite his fatigue, he still wanted to fight. He had a taste of having power again and he will enjoy every last bit of it, even if his body was reaching past exhaustion.]

[The differences between light and shadow are largely how Giles is seeing the world right now. So the casting of Holy Rain is most definitely noticed, and not just because of the pained cries he can hear from the swarming soldiers.

Exhausted and shaken as he is, it really does seem like some sort of divine ray of hope falling from the sky. There's a body in the melee that doesn't have fully sized wings - Giles strengthens the barrier around him enough to stop the next blow from falling, even as he raises his gun and shoots the Shift Hunter pacing towards him from behind.]

[Alexei will spot him momentarily, but he couldn't do much else as those that survives the Holy Rain decided to change target and attack him. Like that one Elite over there that has decided he was more of a threat.

Casting spells unfortunately takes time which he's sure that Elite and these few soldiers will not give him, but he can still fight with a blade. He points his blade toward incoming mass and fires a straight beam into the crowd, just missing Giles barrier further down.]

[On the bright side, more of the Third Party are dying and the light of Alexei's spells does more to chase away the darkness brought by the monsoon.

On the down side, that last beam of white hot light barely missed Giles - he turns reflexively in an attempt to identify where it came from, just in time to see more of the soldiers and, oh god, an Elite closing in on Alexei.

Whatever the Third Party want out of the way that badly is probably on his side. Giles begins fighting and shooting his way over to help.]

[Alexei had opened a temporary pathway thanks to his beam attack, which he will take to move closer to Giles.

That Elite though, is going to cause him some problems and block his way. It attempts to strike him, forcing Alexei back, but he simply counters by sending a wave of ice at it with his blade to stall some time.]

I thought I saw someone down there! [He may as well make sure he wasn't seeing things. While it would be nice to have some assistance, that also means he has to be careful where he strikes now.]

Wish I could see anything right about now. [Grimly, Giles steps up behind Alexei to try and stab the attacking Elite in the back. The pistol and the crossbow are useless in this weather - he'll stick close to Alexei, now that he has met another villager.]

--What? [The Elite was stuck in place by the ice, unable to move forward for a moment, which was enough for Giles to strike it from behind. That...er, probably left the Elite in a very pissed off mood.

Alexei glances to Giles. Really, this guy could not see?]

I suppose I should commend you for holding up for as long as you have.

Most everyone has. [Geez, why won't you die? Stupid monsoon jamming up the gun. All right, let's try something new.] Are you saying you can see much at the moment?

You might want to back away, whoever you are.
