[Frey had fallen back to the defensive lines with his squad already, determined to hold his ground there for as long as possible. Between the pouring rain ruining coordination and the pressure the opposition was placing on them, the outcome was looking grim to him.
How long could they last without reinforcements? Surely the Malnosso didn't intend to let them all die here, in a battle where little could be gained. Then again, the new people in charge didn't seem as concerned with them as Catherine had.
So that leaves Frey soaked to the bone, injured, and still fighting even though the sun has long set. He's nearly out of healing spells and the few rune scrolls he'd had left were already in the hands of those back at camp because they needed them more for the growing number of injured.]
Sure. [but she's already done, pushed past her limits for the third or fourth time today. She, too, looks at the woman singing, and the barrier forming around them as a result]
Are you both all right? [She raises her staff again, taking advantage of the brief protection to summon forth enough fonons to muster up a decent Healing Circle. She'd used up so much of her energy today, just trying to keep everyone alive as the green spark of light appeared above them at the same time a glyph appeared below.]
Come forth o illumination of light! [She can feel the Barrier beginning to lose it's power just as the soothing energy began to rain down.]
How long have you both been fighting these lines? [If they had been out here as long as she, then surely they were more injured than they let on. Unfortunately she doesn't have enough energy to continuously heal them, so it was best for her to know now so she could start rationing her strength.]
I'm still capable of fighting, if that is what you are asking. [And to prove it, he's standing up, grabbing his weapon and ready to fight in spite of his injuries. He's not going back to camp until he absolutely has to.]
[actually she's sort of breaking the rules by not being back in the medical tent where she belongs right now. But some spell earlier, and Tear's now, have helped.
... All right then. [So none of them should still be out here, not that it matters. She, too, goes into a fighting stance, throwing knife in one hand and staff firmly gripped in the other.]
I'll help you both out. [Ion and Luke were back there.]
[Zan'nen is in bad shape. Due to his own set of abilities, he's just managed to avoid any especially crippling injuries, more out of dodging than combat skill. He's covered in scrapes, cuts, mud, and even worse, tiny fragments of a bomb that went off a little too close are jutting from some of his injuries on his left side. On top of this, he's out of any ammunition he'd brought with him, so he's forced to fight with his father's old short-sword, something he'd fallen out of practice with a long time ago.
Still, although he's not intending to die, he doesn't feel right leaving others out their risking their own lives for his. So long as he was able to stand, he was going to continue.]
[Frey was surprised to see a flash of silver out of the corner of his eye, and, once he gets some breathing space, he turns to spot Zan'nen fighting nearby. And he doesn't look like he's in very good shape, either.] Zan'nen! Do you need backup?
[A familiar voice, that was oddly reassuring. Zan'nen lunges forward to slash at an enemy in his way, and takes the chance to glance around the battle field to locate just where the voice was coming from.] Frey.
[In the moment he was distracted, an enemy's sword comes swinging down, far too close to his arm for comfort. He trips up the soldier, giving him a solid smack on the head with his hilt for good measure and makes a mad dash towards Frey.] From the looks of this mess, both of us could use some backup!
Well, we're all spread a bit thin right now. We'll make due with what we can. [Frey finishes off his current, downed opponent with a rather brutal move: Smashing the man's throat with the end of his staff. He's not leaving anyone to get back up. Not in these conditions.] Are you ok?
[Even Zan'nen winces at that move. It was odd watching someone like... well, like Frey fighting with such brutality.] I'm fine. I told you to worry about yourself. You have trouble listening don't you?

I'll be fine! Thank you! Are you? [Looking to Sheena.]

Yeah, I'm great. [not really listening to you Frey.] That protection's disappearing, can you get up?
