Pretty much anytime before the 16th \o/ semper_cogitans June 13 2011, 16:19:53 UTC
(OOC: Pulling Robert out a day early so he can recover a bit more before the Mu plot since this'll throw him for a loop :D; And on Tuesday he will probably be spending quite a bit of time with Don... but everything else is more than fair game! \o/)

[There is something decidedly and markedly unusual in its normalcy in Luceti.

For, you see, Robert is walking around outside looking completely... ordinary. Though externally, he still looks pretty much the same (for now... perhaps he'll decide to wear something new during this event, and it won't take anywhere near as much convincing, either), he seems noticeably more relaxed, he smiles much more easily, his movements are a lot less mechanical, and in general he looks a lot more like the average person.

... But the most interesting thing will be if one decides to talk to him. For, you see, not only is he being actively social - he's actually seeking out other people of his own accord - and friendly instead of his usual professional cold self, but he actually will be able to understand ( ... )

[Hey, a person he doesn't know! Normally this would cause panic, awkwardness and scrunching inward. But right now it causes nothing but joy! Because this is a new person, potentially a new friend, and zie has questions! And he can answer them, because his genius is still firmly intact, and he might actually get her undercurrents right now.

This is all very exciting, so he turns to her with a winning smile.]

Of course! I'd be glad to answer your questions.

What's your name? I'm Robert.

[He actually introduced himself without using his whole name and title.

The world is ending.]

(OOC: It's fine! <3)

[Robert beams even wider at this. That enthusiasm is decidedly infectious.] Anodrac - what a perfectly wonderful name! And it's great to meet you, too.

My home planet is called Terra. It's a nice place - well, at least I think so, but you know, I would have a bias. [He grins almost sheepishly - for once actually managing to communicate intent.] Still, I'm sure that Selles is nice too. Maybe you should tell me all about it - I always enjoy hearing about new places and people.

[His love of learning is one thing that hasn't changed.]

Well, the sun is nice for me, but the library would be wonderful too. I'm sure many of my friends will be in the library anyway. [So saying, Robert, still grinning enthusiastically, falls into step next to Anodrac, heading for the library.] Though, really, I'm still getting used to the books; it's a significant change from databases, but I could definitely get used to it. I pretty much already have, actually. [He's talking easily and comfortably; like he's known Anodrac for years, and his gray eyes are bright.]

Does your world have libraries?

Oh... I could read to you, if you'd like! [Still smiling, because there's nothing wrong with a difference like that (Robert would think that usually anyway) and he doesn't mind stuff like that. Reading is fun, especially when it's with other people.]

Well, a database is, essentially, a massive storage device for data of all kinds. On Terra, they're all over the planet, connected to each other via the global Internet. It's really amazing, if I do say so myself - almost like the journal system here, but with more connections and a place to permanently store information. [He grins at her even if she can't see, practically radiating sociability.]

So how does your species record information? Do you guys use sound? You remind me of the Terran order Chiroptera - or more commonly known as bats. But whatever your species is, it's really fascinating.

And likewise, I'd love to read to you! [This'll be one of the few times where he can do it without stuttering, and at any rate, it's probably the best time to try to get information out of him.]

Well, my world is pretty far in the future compared to most of the places here - objectively, anyway. Though really, it seems to be kinda random - times from all over the place. There are some worlds that have a time further ahead than mine - 2332 A.D., that is - but their technology is in a completely different stage. It's so very fascinating! [Normally pedantic about Terran things, but his increased sociability makes him aware that overt pedanticness comes off badly.]

Forms of writing seem to be pretty common amongst most sapients, I've noticed. Though there are some species that don't, or can't... but there's always some form of communication, and generally a way to permanently store knowledge. It's exciting! [He's an astrobiologist, Anodrac. That's why he can't shut up about this.]It's from a very old language from Terra - Latin. That ( ... )

(OOC: Ugh. That HTML exploded REALLY BADLY. :| Just... um... don't mind that. damnit, missing '>'!)

[At Anodrac's expression, Robert just beams. It's so fun to meet people who love to learn!]

I would be glad to! Knowledge is meant to be shared with everyone!

[Robert is smiling just as broadly as her as he saunters up to the table and seats himself across it from the anthropomorphic pseudo-Chiropteran.]

So what exactly do you want to know? I mean, there's a lot to cover...

[But he doesn't seem bothered by this at all.]
