Whenever Giles is at Good Spirits? \o/semper_cogitansJune 13 2011, 18:16:53 UTC
[Did somebody say Good Spirits? Because that's a place that Robert happens to be - for once in his life, and willingly at that. He's carrying around a half-full glass of something, though it's clear Robert isn't paying much attention to the drink - he's here to talk and be socially competent, thank you very much.
Which is why he immediately approaches Giles when he sees him, smiling with a brightness very uncharacteristic of him, and gives a very easy, natural-looking wave.]
Hey, Giles! Glad to see you around; it's been too long since we've spoken. [Robert gestures to a seat conveniently near Giles.] Is this seat taken, or do you mind if I give you some company for awhile?
Mike is very good, yes. We could ask him. I can cook, quite well if I do say so myself, but with my eyes not quite up to snuff, yet, it...might be a bit disastrous if I tried.
I don't really know anyone from Seventh Heaven. Do you?
Let me know who you find. I can't cook for everyone in the village, after all. [Nevermind the fact that he...shouldn't be cooking for anyone at all yet.]
...good luck charms. I can make those. Not sure if they work but, well, everyone's always telling me it's the thought that counts.
Oh? Good luck charms? Sounds really cool and just the kind of thing that'd be interesting to have... [Not that Robert thinks luck is an actual thing, of course. But he's willing to have this as a fun idea. All in jest!]
So we have! [Robert practically sparkles as he smiles, broadly, down at Giles.
Toasts have hung around long enough as a custom that Robert recognizes the gesture, and he replicates it with a smooth sweeping arc of an arm. With an almost-delicacy, he clinks his own half-full glass against Giles'.]
[The "clink" of glass gently being touched to glass nevertheless seems quite loud in the crowded bar. Giles nods in satisfaction and takes his drink.]
Thank you for your help with all of this, Robert. I must say, I don't know how you reached this point, but overall I would say it's quite a good look for you.
Thanks! I appreciate it. Though really, I didn't do anything special. I just woke up and decided enough was enough!
[That... should ring some warning bells, if it hasn't already. Robert knows somewhere in his mind that he isn't making sense, but admitting that would mean having the carefully-constructed mental façade come crashing down.]
[Maybe a bit. Giles' training in psychology extends to "stop the traumatized victims of the supernatural doing themselves bodily harm or talking too much", and those are precisely the situations where you can't wake up and say enough is enough.
But Robert isn't the first person to make him suspect experiment, and he's kind of fun to talk to like this, and hey, what if he's wrong?]
Perhaps Luceti has been good for you. It can tend to have that effect on people - heaven's know, it had that effect on me the first time I was here, although not quite to the degree it seems to have had on you.
Oh, Luceti's definitely been good for me in a lot of ways. I've learned more here than I have in ages... and about all sorts of different possibilities and worlds! [Even without the effects of the experiment, he would be enthusiastic about this.]
But mostly, I'm just glad to have made great friends here!

[And later on, he'll find out (on his own, or courtesy of Ami) that he does in fact know one - Sayo.]

Right! Seems as though we've officially planned a party.
...that was easier than I thought it was. [He smiles happily at Robert, holding up his glass.] Cheers?
