It had been some time since Vash had found Rem. They've had their talk and it was time to head home. It would be a lie to say Vash wasn't just a little nervous about Rem meeting his friends, there were likely to be some uncomfortable questions.

Then again, he was also very excited to have so many of the people he cared about together in one place. It was just a shame that Meryl was still gone. So as makes his way home, he sends out a message to his roommate to ask that they all meet him in the kitchen. He has someone he'd like them to meet.

Like requested, Wolfwood had made his way in the kitchen and made sure to tell the others to join him. Not that he minded, with a beautiful supply of food to waste his time, but he was mainly focused on what was so important that Vash had to call them into one specific place. Could'nt've been bad, could it? He would've given a better heads up than this.

... If it was something bad, he's going to throttle him for making him wait on the news.

Milly appeared in the kitchen shortly afterwards, looking slightly perplexed and being summoned to the kitchen by Mr. Vash. But there was food, and Mr. Priest looked just as befuddled as she felt, so that was a relief.

"What's going on? Do you know what Mr. Vash wants to talk to us about?"

"No idea." Amelia was the last to enter the kitchen, following after Milly at Vash's request. There was no sign of the man in question, of course, but hopefully he wouldn't be too long--or too destructive. Unfortunately, there really wasn't any to guess.

Unlike the other two, she didn't dig into whatever food was around right away. Instead Amelia dropped down into a chair at the table where she could watch the door.

"Let's just hope he isn't breaking things again."

Well, they don't have to wait too much longer. Vash enters the kitchen with a soft smile. He really wish Meryl was here right now, but at least everyone else was here.

"Hey guys. I want you to meet, Rem." And thus introduces the young woman following him into the kitchen. "I guess you could say she raised me."

And in behind Vash steps Rem, looking a little embarrassed at getting such an introduction. He was, after all, a grown man now -- and despite the fact she'd left him as a child...

Well. That she has to crane her neck to look up at him says a lot, doesn't it? Not to mention she's now the focus of three additional pairs of eyes, and after all the he'd told her -- and all that'd happened before she arrived here in Luceti, to say it'd been one hell of a day was an understatement.

But you'd be hard pressed to think any of it bothered her in the least from the cheerful if sheepish smile at her face as she lifted a hand to wave in greeting with a light-hearted chuckle.

"It's so nice to meet you!" She says with cheer.

... Oh.

Well. That's definitely not what he was expecting.

... But he recognized her immediately. The woman in Vash's picture, and the of course, the woman who was his dead wife in that shitty family shift. He managed a little grin at that, after a moment of surprise. Needlenoggin must've been on cloud nine, at this point (come on, look at the dopey look on his face).

"So the famous Rem finally comes along."

Who'd a-thunk it.

First things first: let Vash know impending horror could await him.

"Does this mean I get to hear embarrassing stories about Vash?"

It took Milly a few moments to place where she had seen Rem before, but when she recalled the photo in Vash's room of him as an adorable little boy in a garden with this same woman, it came back to her.

"Oh. Oh! It's so nice to meet you too!" True to wonderful, cheery form, Milly made her way straight over to Rem with her biggest, happiest smile on her face and held out her hand for a handshake. "I'm Milly, and that's Mr. Priest, and this is Miss Amelia and, well, Meryl's not here right now but she lives here too and it's really lovely you're here now!"

...Oh.

Well, it's better than hearing he broke something, at least. Unlike the other two, Amelia didn't speak up right away, though she raised a hand to wave when Milly introduced her. It was hard to look at this woman and realize she was pretty much Vash's mother. Amelia couldn't help the pang of jealousy she felt then, but she pushed it out of her mind. Vash really was happy, and he of all people deserved to be.

So Amelia let herself smile a bit. "It's nice to meet you too." Of course this raised some interesting questions, but those could wait. For a few minutes, anyway.

All Vash can do at Wolfwood's comment is to bristle slight and turn rather red in the face. Oh, he had known things like that had probably been coming, but this quickly?

"WOLFWOOD!" He tries to say more than that, but no words come out.

Rem simply laughs, something warm and proud settling in her chest and spreading outward. Vash had made a life for himself -- on that planet, and here. He had friends, a life... all the things she had ever hoped he'd manage to eek out for himself despite how hard it might be.

She's so proud of him... happy for him. Just one look at these people and she knew that this was his 'home,' whatever land their feet were planted on.

She reaches to take Milly's hand with a bright smile. She couldn't be happier.

"Milly, it's wonderful to meet you!" And a glance beyond the tall woman, to the priest behind -- a priest? Vash, she didn't see that one coming.

"I think we can arrange a give and take, Mr. Wolfwood, hm?"

It wouldn't be home if she wasn't teasing her boy affectionately, would it?

"I think that can definitely be arranged."

Wolfwood would've chirped in to correct Milly's 'Mr. Priest', but Vash was kind enough to fix that for him. He grinned at the offer before shooting Vash a teasing look. Come on, Spikey, let him have his fun. Giving Vash a friendly pat on the back, Wolfwood rested against a chair, now completely free of any tenseness he would've had prior to the two's arrival.

"It's a good thing you got here when you did; I was starving. If you two're hungry, maybe we should make a lunch outta' this. You hungry, Rem?"

Wow, it was weird, saying that name directly to someone.

"I'm sure we can throw a little something together, while we're here."

"Oh that sounds like a wonderful idea Mr. Priest! You just sit back Miss Rem and we'll get something rustled up for you to eat. How about a change of clothes? You're lucky the weather's so nice and warm now, it was so cold when I got here and all I had on was my sundress, but now that it's summer- oh! That's right, there are seasons here and the weather changes, it's wonderful! Not at all like back home on Gunsmoke. It takes a bit of getting used to but it really is lovely."

Milly paused for breath for a moment, looking between them all and smiling brightly, squashing down the lingering thought that she wished Meryl were there with them too. Mr. Vash looked so happy... except for when Mr. Priest had teased him, but that was how they always were.
