Ingrid! Ingrid, are you alright?!

[He tries to ignore the strange flying exo-Terran that has been diving at him repeatedly for the past while from where he's pinned himself between some debris in a strange, broken-down city.

He can't help but yelp as another one of those bright blue beams - lasers, he wants to think - lances down from the whirling dark sky again to slam into the already-shattered tarmac of the dirty, dark road.]

I-Ingrid... Please, speak to me!

[Ingrid's heart gives a great sideways leap, and she sits up in bed blearily, looking for the journal.]

[There's another loud explosion as a second laser hits the ground not far from him. It actually incinerates the flying creature (because the laser is a simulation as well) quite cleanly, which would be absolutely terrifying in basically any other circumstance.]

... L-Luceti has gone qu-quite thoroughly haywire...

[In response, Robert flicks on the video function. He - cautiously - aims the journal out of the nook of twisted debris he's taken shelter in.

The journal catches sight of a large black-and-red biped lumbering past on the broken asphalt. Zie stops a moment, idly swinging zir fists, before letting loose a few low vocalizations and continuing zir random patrol.]

... I have... a-absolutely no idea. But... but this all might be... simulated.

[That doesn't stop the next laser stabbing into the ground, accompanied with an explosion, from being any less startling. Robert yelps as the bolt breaks another hole in the concrete of the sidewalk.]
