[ near the bridge by the clinic, a troop of the Sorceress' longcoats have appeared. they are keeping Glitch busy and very very focused for once, so intervening with caution might be a good idea.

front kick, block, right hook, reverse roundhouse, feint, duck, spin, uppercut, hook kick, block, tornado kick...yup, this is indeed the same bumbling headcase a few of you may know. ]

Woohoo, Glitch! Keep it up!

[Intervening? What intervening? This is an awesome show! Lina is just going to sit up in a tree and munch on some popcorn.]

[ Glitch is thrilled to be entertaining! although he's more focused on Lina's voice than what she's actually saying, and so stops what he was doing (ax kick!) to look for her. ]

Lina! Hey, could I have a--

[ sucker punch to the back of the head from one of his foes? sure! ]

[Sigh. Well, it was awesome while it lasted. Lina performs quite an impressive facepalm before sliding off the branch.] Hey, suits! Hands off my disciple!

[ from his new position on the ground Glitch manages to kick the legs out from under one of his assailants, then springs up again and spins backwards, striking another in the jaw with his heel. ]

Yeah! Hands off her...what? [ block, punch, dodge ]

[Lina fights with much less technique than Glitch, but a great deal more ferocity. She's also a smaller target, and lays into the pack with a will, dealing out kicks and punches wherever she can reach.]

My disciple! [What? It sounded nicer than "my moron", which is what she'd usually call Gourry.] I'm the only one who gets to push him around!

[ the "technique" is pretty much 100% instinct and muscle memory, the flair a distraction. like the nifty pirouette which left the third-from-last longcoat expecting a roundhouse, only to get a snap kick to the solar plexus. two to go! ]

Nobody gets to push me around!

But hypothetically, you'd prefer I do it to these guys, right? [This non-magical fighting thing is fun! Glitch is too close to not get hit, so Lina sticks to the martial arts right along with him.]

Well yes but-- [ reverse roundhouse! last one's yours, Lina! ] Not at all would...be best.

Duly noted! Nobody but you!

[Except not. Lina leaps into the air for a flying swing kick to her opponents head. He bounces several times over the ground before fading.]

Wahoooo!

[ Glitch does...probably something awesome and fighty to dispatch the last longcoat and turns to give Lina a triumphant look. ]

Yes! Thanks for...the help. [ he slumps against a convenient tree to catch his breath and rubs his right shoulder, wincing.] Cripes, I'm probably too old for this.

[Well this doesn't look like a fair fight! Knuckles grabs the arm of the longcoat closest to him, pulling him around and punching him across the face. The thug goes down and Knuckles calls to the man being attacked as he prepares to join the fight properly.]

Hope you don't mind me evening the odds a little?

[ another day, another troop of longcoats to put down. thankfully he knows better now than to be distracted by the new voice, and finishes off one foe with a high side-kick to the head before looking to see who had come to his aid. ]

Don't mind at...all. [ BLINK. someday, he is going to get used to diversity of Luceti's population. ]

Nice kick.

[Knuckles doesn't get phased much by the folk he's met in Luceti. He might raise an eyebrow at the zip but for now he's more focused on the longcoats. Speaking of which, one tries to grab the echidna from behind, only to find himself thrown to the ground.]

I get the feeling you've done this before.

[ someday Glitch will meet a turtle and what's left of his brain will melt out his ears. meanwhile, Knuckles clearly has the right idea: beating up foes > boggling at allies. ]

Yesterday! [ dodge, elbow, stomp...less elegance, more efficiencey, only two longcoats left who hadn't fled or been knocked out. ] And...and sometime before that too, I think.

[Knuckles takes out one of two remaining longcoats jumping up and punching him across the face.]

You think? [And Knuckles finally notices the Zip ... strange. He stairs at it for a second before he forces himself to stop.]

These guys aren't that hard to take down, but they're pretty distinctive. [It's not often Knuckles fights uniformed humans, he'd remember if he'd come across them before.]
