[HI, ASCH, I'M BREAKING YOUR WINDOW.

Yeah, a few minutes before or after Asch gets into his room again, Miyabi will have, quite literally, crashed right through it. She looks quite worse for wear, bloody scratches and bruises already littering her arms and legs, and a deep patch of red staining her side. Not even a day after fighting that nine-tailed fox and she's getting attacked again? She loves you, too, Luceti, really.

But this time, the monsters followed her. Persistent little buggers, those imps. She kicks one of the ones that was trying to get inside the broken window back out, clutching at her side, then scans the room for her sword.

MAN, WHERE DID YOU PUT IT.]

[Another frown, though it's more of a scowl this time. Miyabi's not sure if Asch is lying to her again or not, but she can tell he's hiding something. Why else would he mention something happening to him when she didn't even ask? ASCH YOU ARE SUCH A HORRIBLE LIAR. And now she's going to worry even more than she should.

But...she said she wouldn't dig up anything if Asch doesn't want to talk about it. So...she'll just exhale and pick up a few pieces of glass.]

...I'm sorry I broke your window. And thank you for looking after Sumomo for me.

[Asch shrugs, considering the previous issue officially dealt with, and disappears for a moment to fetch a broom and dustpan. Go go domestic God-Generals.]

To you it may not have been...but my sword is very important to me. Sumomo is my most prized possession. [She casts a long glance at her sword with a fond smile, then continues carefully picking up the glass. At least until Asch returns with a dustpan and the broom.]

You could tell, couldn't you? She's special. And she trusts you, too.

Wait, it's sentient? [So that's what he'd felt when he had taken it from her, then. ...How weird is that, that's even more advanced than the Key of Lorelei...]

Oh, n-no! Erm, well...not exactly. [If she's understanding what the word sentient means, at least.] We poncles are the only ones in Nippon that can use the Celestial Brush Skills, other than the gods. For that, our swords have to be made specially, and for each person individually. Sumomo's not...alive in the sense of actually living, I-I think, but my sword can sense when a good or bad person is holding her. The Brush Skills are meant to ward off evil, after all, so...I guess the brush producing them can sense that.

That's what I think, at least.

[She won't go into the whole "bushido" and swords' soul thing. That's just too darn complicated and she can't properly describe it anyway. For something like that, she'd need someone wiser, like Ishaku.]

[Asch lifts a brow at the sword, leaning back a bit. That's... weird, but at this point it isn't the strangest thing he's ever heard of. Certainly not when normalcy is people being held together by particles of sound.]

How do you know when it senses one or the other?

Ah... [Now this? This is harder to explain. Miyabi purses her lips, thinking, then looks down at her sword again.] I just know. I...uhm, d-don't laugh, but I can hear Sumomo. Not like a voice or anything, but just that presence. It's part of my culture. For a swordsman, a sword isn't just a tool or a weapon. The blade becomes your partner, and both swordsman and sword become connected. The sword's soul...that's kind of what I feel when I hold Sumomo.

[She removes the sword from its scabbard and after looking at it, Miyabi hands it out towards Asch to take.] Here, take her. I want to see what she thinks of you.
