[Albert has been struck with the bizarre role of ... an old man, complete with white hair and a full white beard. Along with this physical change comes a bunch of animals. Perhaps some of them are others' pets. Perhaps some of them are forest animals. Whatever it is, Albert can't seem to help calling them his children and ushering them back home. It was getting late and they all had to be fed broth and put to bed.
...All the while, he sounds harried and stressed about this, steadfastly trying to direct the animals back towards his house.]
[Later days (28th onward)]
[...Even after dealing with that particular tale and earning a short reprieve, Albert is again stuck with his white hair and beard. He seems to be fairly content at least, walking around with Kogoro and without all those other animals in tow. He keeps calling the black shiba inu Shiro, though.]
(ooc: Stories told here are The Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe and Hanasaka Jiisan, or The Old Man Who Made Dead Trees Bloom.}

Ah, but she couldn't call out. Raine could, however, move past the wayward animals and toward Albert, in the hopes of getting to tap his arm to get his attention. If there was one thing they wouldn't need to clean up after in the morning, it would be the result of having so many wild animals tearing up the house.]

Come along, children, it's getting late. [That was probably not very true, considering there was still sunlight left. He tries to keep his voice level and relatively quiet, even as he tries to analyze what he was doing. ...There was one of his children--a duck--heading towards his flowers. No.
He is, however, distracted by the tap, and he looks over his shoulder.]

It's almost suppertime. [He explains, as if that makes any sense at all.]

She'll still favor him with a slight frown at those actions, giving a shake of her head, and then moving to indicate the sun's position with a slightly blistered hand. Part of the experiments compulsions, surely, but there had to be some way of working through it.]

I know what time it is. [He sounds exasperated, and it's unclear if he's still in-character or not. But with those three "children" safely away from the garden, he looks at Raine, her blistered hand, and the plants she is carrying.]
...Nettles?

When he addresses her own oddities, she responds with a terse nod, readjusting her hold on them, almost protectively in reflex.]

She'd drop that bundle right there if she could, but it's hard not to stop and stare -- and bite down on her tongue, again -- as the front door is actually opened. She manages to move toward the porch, in any case, trying to keep any more from getting in and shooting another look toward Albert.]

...He's already off to the kitchen, not quite in control of his feet.]

And yet her priority is more focused on those damn nettles, as much as she'd rather drop them otherwise, though her expression isn't especially pleased, lips pressed together thinly as she tries to subdue the animals with ... a look.]

All he can seem to do is chide the "children" over his shoulder as he puts a pot of water on the stove so it may begin heating up.]
Now, now, children. It's a small home, I know, but we have to make do.
[...He seems to belatedly realize just how many animals have actually followed him home, and he puts on another pot of water.]

If the animals succeed in eating too much of her carefully gathered plants, she'll have to go out and get more again. Which is frustrating when there's not nearly enough time...]

It's as he finishes that task that he realizes his is temporarily free from throes of the tale, and he looks over at Raine on the chair ... before going over and chasing off the goat.]
All of this nonsense...
Reply
... Maybe she should try getting down now, anyway. But it's not like she wants to risk setting down her bundle to do that.]
