[He almost doesn't glance behind at the new voice, but the newcomer is grumbling about the same thing he's been silently griping about.] It's like they replaced everything.

[Upon being addressed, she takes a step closer to him while keeping her gaze glued to the candy that's, well, everywhere.]

And here I was looking forward to a big meal. It's not going to stay this way the whole day, is it?

[He groans.] I think it's supposed to be for celebrating Halloween. Like this past week hasn't been enough.

[It's then that he really seems to register who he's talking to. Or, uh, certain assets of hers, at least. He tilts his head, looking at her tail and ears curiously.]

In any case, it doesn't take a genius to find out a curious look when she sees one. This guy has ears -- what's so off about her?]

[He startles a little, blinking once he realizes he was staring. He manages to clear his throat before speaking.] Sorry. I've never seen someone like you before. A squirrel race?

I'm a squirrel-type beastkin. Aren't you technically one yourself?

[Not a squirrel, but something like a beastkin.]

Squirrel-type beastkin... [Just by the way he repeats the words, it should be obvious this is the first time he's heard the term.] People of my race are called Fellpool in my world. I suppose I could technically be called a beastkin in your world.

[Fellpool, huh. Never heard of them, and the way he speaks of her race, it's a worldly difference.]

. . . perhaps. Do the Fellpool have different types, as well?

Not really. Fellpools are any of the race who have feline features, like ears or tail or eyes. There's also the Lesser Fellpools though, who can transform into a full feline form. [...] I'm guessing that's not what you meant by types, though.

Mostly because they're closer to the actual feline race. It's pretty politically incorrect, I know.
