it's me again

So, the plot is wrapped up! Everyone is back home, safe and sound. I hope those of you involved had fun with it.

But first, some brief wrap up notes!

There will not be a Bil post about it. At least not yet. Feel free to contact him and ask him about stuff, though. Or, you know, just asking him for stuff. Speaking of stuff, he and John have set up a reward for Luceti for their help with the infiltration. We call it...

THE BATTLE DOME

On the morning of the 16th, the villagers will notice that where once was a forest, is now a large and rather foreign looking dome sitting conspicuously south of Community Housing 3. It's large and completely enclosed, with no windows to the outside. The dome is rough the same size as a community building and three stories high. On the outside, there will be a banner indicating that it is a gift, reading as such:

FROM THE GREAT ONE
And Sir Catherine!

The layout of the dome.

The six large rooms are each capable of producing solid holograms for fighting against, as well as a simulated environment complete with sights, sounds, and smells. In the center of the the dome is an information console that allows people to pick a room and activate a 'scenario' inside. If Kain likes, he could walk up to the console and activate a battle scenario of fighting monsters on the Moon. Batman can activate a scenario of fighting common thugs in a street alley. You aren't even limited to your own canon! Link can turn on a scenario that allows him to go fight rampaging dinosaurs instead. Or maybe Yuri would like to try out the X-Men's Danger Room and see what the big deal is. The controls are designed to be easy enough for any character to work through. Users can either access directly by a keyboard interface, touch screen, or voice commands. A monotone, female voice will helpfully provide any assistance users need to figure out how to operate it.

Features:

  • Power Cap adjustment - Although it can't reduce or remove the power cap, it can raise it all the way to maximum. This will reduce any powered individual to be comparable to a normal human.

  • Gravity Adjustment - Up to ten times Earth's gravity. The program will auto-abort if the user is unable to handle that much gravity.

  • Safeties - By default, holographic enemies can't harm the user. However characters can work out how to disable this feature on the console outside. The AI voice will NOT tell you how to do this, though. With safeties off, the program will run normally and cause harm to the user, but it auto-terminate before inflicting any attacks that would leave a user mortally wounded or kill them.

  • Status Effects - For RPG-type characters, allowing for status effects to be inflicted can also be enabled in the same way as disabling safeties. Note that any of these side effects WILL wear off when the scenario terminates.

  • Capacity - Up to six people can be in the same scenario together.

  • Shift Shielded - Not even Superman can punch a hole through it.

  • Time Limit - The maximum time a scenario will run is one hour, at which point the scenario will abort and the AI voice will helpfully suggest they go out and get some fresh air before resuming. Users can, of course, just go back into the lobby and turn it back on. But really, shouldn't you let other people have a turn?

  • Viewing Area - Stairs are located on either side of the entrance to the lobby. These stairs lead to a platform that goes all around the dome, where curious spectators can watch through one-way glass as different fighters test their mettle in battle scenarios.

  • Vending Machines - Tired? There is a constantly restocked snack and drink machine in the viewing area. To use it, just use the touch screen to make your choice. There seems to be almost no limit to the choices, really. Among regular drinks and snacks, there is also items like potions, gels, ethers, and items of that nature. (Note: This only includes weak first tier items, so nothing comparable to "Hi-Potion" or above. Any curative items that leaves the dome will instantly be vaporized at the door.)

Note: As of now, the dome is limited only to battle scenarios. It cannot be programmed for any other purpose beyond that. That could, however, change in the future.

    The Medical Center

Because of how dangerous these kind of battles are (and because Bil loves you all that much), the dome also features a medical center. It takes up a small portion of the dome and has three floors, complete with elevator. The equipment and medicine provided is roughly equivalent to what can be found in a modern hospital. However any of the technology inside will ONLY work inside the medical center and if taken out, will cease to properly function. There is no staff provided for this center, however, so it will be up to the residents to figure out how to best make use of what's available. Both the clinic and medical center will continue to have their supplies replenished by the Malnosso via Shifting.

Note: The Dome is here to stay! This is not an event, but a permanent addition to Luceti. QUESTIONS GO HERE.
