Guys.
In an attempt to sort through some of the hysteria and kerfluffle going on over the new AC rule, I am going to try to clarify what was said. This post will not be cut, because frankly all of you need to read this and understand it.
First of all:
YOUR JOURNAL ENTRY NEED NOT HAVE 30 COMMENTS FROM YOU.
That is not required. That is not a thing which needs to happen. Let me present it to you this way.
In the system for our previous check, you could 1) post an entry OR 2) post three threads totaling 30 comments from your character.
That entry was not required to have the minimum of 30 comments from your character. If it had less than that amount, you might see how it could be unfair to those who did post threads. It was an unbalanced system weighed heavily in the favor of simply posting.
This new rule requires that regardless of what you post, you must show us, the mods, 30 total comments from your character for the entirety of the AC period. This is the check period that now extends, for reference, over a month's time. Your post can now be part of that 30 comment total. Your post does not have to have 30 comments from your character all by itself. It can have ten comments just from you, and then you give us two more threads that have ten comments each from you, or however you choose to get those two other threads to bring your total up to 30 comments.
I also want to be very clear that we are not dictators and we aren't going to murder you silly for not meeting these requirements for one reason or another. We are here to listen to you guys! If you come and talk to us we will listen, and we understand there can be mitigating factors. If for some reason you don't meet check requirements, don't panic -- just come talk to us and we'll see what we can do to help you.
And to be extremely clear -- we won't penalize you if others drop your threads. That is NOT going to happen, not now, not ever. We won't force you out of the game for something that isn't your fault. Please understand that. All you have to do is come talk to us. Easy.
