HAY, LISTEN!!
I'm here to give you Luceti's next big thing, folks! And it's not a meme. It's in fact a fancy new thing we're calling a Appointments Post. Now, some of you might be in, have been in, or know of in other games things called inboxs or voicemails or the like, right? Same principle here! For those of you who don't know, I'll be explaining in this post!
To start,
here are some examples of them.
Basically, an Appointments post is a post to serve as a catch-all for two-person, one-on-one interaction that you don't want to make a new post or log for, but you still want to happen. Got a gift to give someone? Appointment post. Got a message to deliver? Appointment post. Got a reaction to someone's thread with someone else on their post when you've already got a thread on there yourself? Appointment post. Basically, it's a catch-all for all of those random things which you want to happen, but don't want to formulate a whole post about.
Now, these are in no way intended to do away with logs or posts or the like. These are for a net of interaction which, while important enough to thread and not assume, are not important enough to merit a whole post. Naturally, they're also harder for people to follow, so things you want other people to be aware of might not be good to have on them as well! And they should not be used for more than one-on-one interaction. If there are three or more characters involved, please just make a log or something. Essentially these are for short (or not so short if you are allergic to concise, like I am) and/or not-terribly-vital one-on-one interactions with no interruptions.
You're free to set them up however you want, but as they're outside of time and space ICly (and totally met) please ask people to include what type of interaction it is and the date int he subject line, as you'll see in some of the examples above.
Appointment posts are best done like a date-out-of-order post linked somewhere in your account, the way most of us do HMDs. And here I will note, much like HMDs, these are in no way mandatory. You don't need to use these! But I think they'll be helpful and some other people I've talked to seem to agree, so if you want to set one up and give it a whirl, go for it. If not, that's cool too.
This post is just to spread the word.
